ROM Freshwater Fishes of Ontario, Canada,
By
This review is from: The ROM Field Guide to Freshwater Fishes of Ontario (Paperback)
This new field guide to the freshwater fishes of Ontario is an excellent addition to the natural history and distribution of northeastern fishes. Particularly helpful is the numerous comparative photos of fish species, including the look-a-like cyprinids (minnows, shiners, dace), including the black-lined species. Also helpful is the distinctive color-paged arrangement of species accounts within the various families. This soft-covered 4 x 8 inch sized book promises to be very useful as a true field guide and a valuable fish reference.Dr. David B. Halliwell (co-author, Inland Fishes of Massachusetts, USA).

- the book is of good quality: sturdy, heavy, with a good cover.- it has descriptions of all Ontario freshwater fishes with coloured images - contains anatomical descriptions, Index table and some other information. Treat it as a small encyclopaedia of fishes. Obviously, it doesn't describe how to fish it and what bait to use. To better understand it's contents, see my uploaded pictures.
