not the way I would fight,
By Blackmane (Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Knife Fighting, Knife Throwing for Combat (Paperback)
This book is entertaining, but don't fight the way this guy does. Maybe he made it work for him, I don't know, but there is WAY too much spinning involved. I know spinning looks cool, especially in tournaments and movies, and there ARE a few situations in real life where it may be a good idea, but this guy is just spin crazy. Also, in his techniques, quite often he'll get the attacker/victim in a position of advantage, then LET HIM OUT OF IT to do a needlessly complicated move. The intro has some good ideas on tactics, and led me to believe the rest would be good too, but it really wasn't. Fun book to read, and there are SOME good points which can be gleaned from it if you are discerning, but don't follow it like the Bible of knife fighting. It isn't. Simple and direct wins the day, and this isn't. Cool looking book though.
