Great book for those who know nothing about EKGs - doesn't assume you know previous knowledge, goes through everything. Quick delivery too. For those who already have exposure to EKGs, I would recommend a more advanced book. However for beginners, this is excellent.

I got recommended this book because at the time I knew nothing about EKGs. It's an easy to read book (sometimes repetitive) that's helpful at pounding info into your head. I ended up using it the most concurrently as a student taking a EKG/cardiac class. It wasn't very indepth in the mechanisms or physiology but it does the job it sets out to do: 'interpreting EKGs' which I believe I am able to do more proficiently thanks to this book. Also it's got nice glossy pages with helpful pictures that take up half the page on every page and it makes it more fun to read than normal class books.

As a critical care and cardiac nurse for over 25 years, I have read and studied all kinds of books on EKG's. THIS is the book of books if you really are serious about reading and interperting 12 Lead EKG's AND arrhythmias! I am self taught and this book is the one that taught me. I frequently teach EKG's now to the newer nurses and I ALWAYS use Dr. Dubin's book. It is simply the very best! It is easy to understand and the illustrations are great! It is a self learning book so you can study at your own pace. There is simply no better book around!

A great step-by-step guide to EKG interpretation. The chapters take you through topics simply and teach basic physiology along the way so that you will remember why waves mean what they do. Easy to pick up for just a few minutes at a time, or go through cover to cover in one day.

In my struggle to learn ECGs I've done an online course, bought several books, and still couldn't remember up from down!

After reading reviews I finally bought this book. It's finally all making sense.
I think the key is that it actually fits my learning style which is visual and kinesthetic. This books addresses both, and more than just spouting off a bunch of facts page after page, it is designed to layer your learning.

Explains things clearly. Builds on previous knowledge, which reinforces that knowledge. Doesn't ramble on filling your head with confusing trivia.

I am relieved. I'm going to conquer this now!!

There is a reason that this book has been around for so long. It makes understanding ECG so much easier. The whole thing is set up for active learning and makes you quiz yourself on every page. Lots of simple diagrams too. If anyone else gets frustrated with ECGs and doesn't want to stay up all night studying, this book is for you.

Wow totally fun, easy to read and "I actually get it" and I don't have to be some high acheiving nerd to get it. Really great intro to EKG's . Finally a book about EKGs that is not intimidating

While the recommended text for our class was "The Only EKG Book You'll Ever Need", I also picked up "Rapid Interpretation of EKG's: An Interactive Course".

While both books are very good, I preferred reading Dubin's book. It had a lot of nice color (not terribly important, but I liked it), the way the book was written helped me to remember the material better because I had to read actively and come up with the answers myself (I hid the correct answers until I had answered the question). The review section at the end of the book was a very nice summary of the most important information.

Definitely a great buy for learning how to interpret EKGs.

As a medical student interested in cardiology, I can say this is by far the best book on the subject of EKGs I've ever read. It may not have every possible pattern, but it lays everything out in a clear, concise, and easy to read and remember format that in invaluable when time is a limiting factor. A true life-saver for any student who wants maximum learning and efficient use of time.

From the time i started learning about EKG's, till the point and time this book was bestowed apon me i had no clue on how to read an EKG. I was always always confused. I never knew top from bottom and just tried to memorize as much as i could. That all changed the day this book came in the mail. In a matter of 4 hours i had read more than half it like a story book. The repititions of words (important ones) and relentless number of pictures that were in it made it impossible not to understand. even my mother who is an RN knows how to read EKG's now. THIS BOOK IS JUST SIMPLY OUTSTANDING IN EVERY ASPECT.
