5.0 out of 5 stars A Landmark Work
Until you read this book, you probably won't know what is really going on in the world.
It's that important a work.

3.0 out of 5 stars worth reading, but..
I read this book several years ago. It was an eye-opener at the time. It will provide some important information for people who have not yet read other books on the subject of money and banks.
Canadians might also want to read two books by Walter Stewart: Bank Heist, and Towers of Gold.
I would also highly recommend The End of Money and The Future of...

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the most important books written in our time, Mar 3 2007
By

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Creature from Jekyll Island: A Second Look at the Federal Reserve (Paperback)
Most people in Canada and the United States have no idea how money is REALLY created, who creates it and it's TRUE history.

Inside this book you will learn everything you always wanted to know about money but were never taught or if you were taught it was misinformation.

The writing style of G. Edward Griffin is very easy to read and understand. After reading this book and digesting it you will never trust the banks, politicians and the media again. It's a colossal scam and it's right under our noses but it's there.

Buy it, borrow it from the library, read it. It might even get you on a quest to tell other people about the scam. I have never read a bad review about this book from any source. It's that important of a book and it's excellently written and researched.

5.0 out of 5 stars US dollar is unconstitutional, Aug 21 2005
By A Customer
This book blew me away. I could not put it down. It is a far deeper history of the U.S. then I ever read before. The click that runs the U.S. and the world for that matter are very much exposed by this book. I checked the references made in each chapter and they are right on. America is supposed to be the home of the brave and the land of the free! This book reveals America is home of the lied to and land of the pawn. Wake up America. Take your government back make it truely a government of the people. Read this book and spread the word.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Can't Believe I Did Not Know Any of This!, July 13 2004

This review is from: The Creature from Jekyll Island: A Second Look at the Federal Reserve (Paperback)
This is an amazing book. It is disconcerting to think I have lived 50 plus years, been in the banking and real estate industries a large portion of those years and never had a clue about how money is created, how banks REALLY operate and the incredible history and functions of the NOT so federal reserve. Initially, I was fascinated with the information, but by the end of the book, I was furious - furious at how we have all been led along and controlled - don't miss this - a Large Light Bulb comes on and you cannot forget it or walk away.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must, MUST read., April 16 2003
This review is from: The Creature from Jekyll Island: A Second Look at the Federal Reserve (Paperback)
Think you know anything about the dollar bills in your wallet?
Think you know who runs this country?
Think that we live in a "free market" economy?

Think again.

Griffin piles up facts and analyzes them with relentless, cold logic. The picture he paints isn't pretty. The Federal Reserve System is a legal cartel expressly designed to create riskless profits for member banks, while simultaneously turning our entire financial system into the legal and moral equivalent of a Las Vegas casino. Yeah, you might get lucky for a while, but the house will always win. Our monetary system is a pyramid scheme that only functions as long as debt is being created at an accelerating rate.

This all sounds crazy, but Griffin has the facts to back it up. The challenging part about Griffin's arguments is that he explicitly states that the foundation and perpetuation of the Federal Reserve System was a conspiracy. Whenever the "C"-word is mentioned, it is an unfortunate truth that many people get turned off. But as Griffith himself says, if a group of people, operating in secret, create a system that explicitly benefits themselves at the expense of others, what else can you call it but conspiracy? Heck, I guess you could call it a "peanut" or a "canteloupe" but it would still add up to the same thing--a system expressly designed to reward failure and punish diligence and honesty. Kinda explains all the crookedness and incompetence behind all the wall street and corporate shenanigans of the last decade, doesn't it?

And if you keep an open mind and pay close attention to his arguments, you'll see that the best place to hide a conspiracy is in plain sight.

If you care about free markets, and your constitutional rights, you will read this book today.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jaw droppingly, unbelievably, horrifyingly necessary, Jan 29 2012
This review is from: The Creature from Jekyll Island: A Second Look at the Federal Reserve (Paperback)
Put simply, I believe this is the most important book I've ever read, and that anyone ever could. As an "educated" economy and commerce major, I thought I had a good handle on finance. I was wrong.

Have you always suspected that modern environmentalism is a sham, but couldn't figure out who was benefitting?

Have you ever wondered why all Presidents and Prime Ministers publicly denounce their counter-parties and then perform exactly the same acts - and accelerate/intensify them?

Read this book, and many of your questions will be answered. Simply astounding. I consider Mr. Griffin (the author) a hero of our times.

Mr. Griffin, thank you for making this book available to us. Not only is it informative but it is also fun to read. I plan to read it again and again. As a seeker of truth I finally found a diamond in a vast field of gravel and rocks.

It is very informing. More people should read to understand the action caused events, for reasons not know.

Also understanding financial agencies throughout the world and what they have done and are still doing.
