I absolutly love this cook book, one of the best buys i have done in a while. I have not tried one recipe in this book that did not turn out good. The only thing i can maybe say againts this book, is in some of the main dish recipes the ingredients are not common house hold items, but then again that is why we have groceries store.

This cookbook contains all you need to know to perfect your cooking technique. From basics like scrambled eggs to more complicated recipes, New Best Recipe uses science to set down the best method for each process. Nice to have it all in a book, rather than the magazines which can fall apart with use.

I bought the New Best Recipe cookbook after watching episodes of America's test kitchen on PBS. It's a wonderful collection of recipes, and all of the ones I've tried have been very tasty. I like how they test the recipes first so you know the best way to make a dish, and most importantly, my family likes the results! A definite buy!

Recipes that Work!,

A cookbook for Geeks? Maybe. But the recipes work without fail if you follow them to the letter, even if some of the steps sound strange (like soaking potatoes in warm water before making oven fries). The narrative describing all the testing and science behind each recipe is well worth reading as it explains why it works and what went wrong with the tested alternatives. Many recipes are simple (I think the Yellow Cupcake recipe is marvellous) and I recommend this book for beginners (yes, it's easy to follow) and experienced cooks.

What you always wanted to know, but were afraid to ask: for the beginner, intermediate or even experienced cook this is the book for you! It teaches the basics, has great recipes, even suggests the type of utensils or pans one should use. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to improve as a cook.

Every recipe I have tried from this book has been great. Not only have the recipes been delicious but the decriptions on how the test kitchen developed them are interesting and informative. I learn a little bit more each time I open the book. An excellent book for the experienced and non-experienced cook alike.

While huge, this cookbook is well worth its heft. Everything you need is right here, with tips and recipes that will make people think you've suddenly gone to cooking school.I have A LOT of recipes & cookbooks, but this is the one that I'm using all the time. |
