This review is from: Saul's Death and Other Poems (Paperback)
"The proof of a poem is not that we have never forgotten it, but we knew at sight we would never forget it." Of course Robert Frost said that, and it is true for me of several poems in this collection.
I only occasionally read poetry and I very rarely commend a work to others. This is an easy exception. This is very good poetry that I recommend highly (though it is hard to ever guess what people will like). I have shared it around and others have gone out and purchased their own copy after reading it.
Haldeman must have very interesting things going on in his head, because he takes us to some strange places. If you enjoy poetry for the places it takes you and the new ideas it plants in your head, then I think you will like this volume.
