A TRULY LOVELY, GENTLE BOOK,
By
This review is from: For Every Dog an Angel (Hardcover)
This book is a good source of comfort for anybody who has ever lost a pet or who is comforting another who has. It is a deeply moving book that might bring tears to your eyes. It is an excellent tool for helping families bond during a time of grief over a loved pet. It will certainly affirm the strong, loving impact pets can have on people's lives. A hearty thank you and a round of applause for Ms. Davis!

For Every Dog an Angel,
By
This review is from: For Every Dog an Angel (Hardcover)
For every dog an angel- O what a wondrous thought! God sent these creatures here in love What a blessing He hath wrought! How well God knew how much we'd love our precious furry friends and He knew too they'd love us back- He knew love never ends And so He made provision for His creatures- man and pet that we'd always be together- In the now and in the yet And if anyone does doubt this- thinks the Bible says "No no" He should read Rev'lations 5:13- You see? I told you so! For how can creatures praise our Lord if they no more exist? The idea is pure folly and must be swift dismissed! So take heart all who love your"kids" be they furry, feather'd or bald We'll romp and play with them again in Heav'n's eternal wald

Beautiful and comforting,

This is a wonderful little book. We had to let my soul dog go just two days ago. This book helped me and our 4-yo son prepare for her passing. It is beautiful, and spiritual without being specific to any particular religion. V Smith, the little poem you left as your review is beautiful as well. If you wrote it yourself, I want to say I think it's wonderful...thank you.

I initially bought this book for my son but was pleasantly surprised by how much it helped me. It has been extremely difficult to lose our precious dog. I found that of all the books I bought or looked through, this one helped the whole family with our grief. I highly recommend it to anyone. I even bought another copy and gave it to our Vet so she could pass it along to other families when needed.

As a 60-something physician I first read this book. I have recommended it to many of my adult patients who have lost a pet as one of the most valuable sources of comfort that is available to help them get through their grief period. This not just a children's book. It's text should be considered gentle, not juvenile.Christine Davis has provided a valuable service by writing this book. I was happy to see that a companion piece for cats has also been published. Thank you, Christine, for helping us cope with the profound loss of a companion.

Oh my! This is ABSOLUTELY the most comforting book I have ever read. My "forever dog", Molson, died of leukemia, and we read this book together on a daily basis until I had the strength to release him. No books, no websites; no friends, no other could have helped us transition more then this book. I now keep at least three copies available at home to give to others who experience the absolute, inconsolable loss of a dear friend and companion. Like everything, it can't obliterate the hurt, but it can SURELY raise the hope. BRAVO! and Thank You!

For kids only - not adults,

This is a wonderful book for kids. I am an adult over 50 and was very disappointed with this book. It brought me no comfort over the loss of my dog, it took a dog's passing too lighthearted. It is definitely recommended reading for children to understand the loss of their pet.

Comfort when I needed it most,
By Laura Martyns (Black Mountain, NC United States) - See all my reviews

After my fourteen year old dog died, the grief was incredibly overwhelming. The bond we had was much more than owner/pet. This book explained the bond that my dog and I shared. It offered such comfort in such simplicity. I have given one to friends that have lost their "forever dog." It is a wonderful book.

A whimsical journey for all ages, just so long as you love dogs. Beautifully illustrated, inspirational and uplifting. As Boomerang would say, "Through love, all things are possible." Very comforting to read and reread, when faced with the loss of a beloved pet.Arlene Millman, author of BOOMERANG - A MIRACLE TRILOGY |
