5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for meals and yummy treats alike!
I bought this book on a recommendation from a friend and I am glad I did! The meals in this book are delicious and I feel good eating them since I know they are so healthy. The baked goods are delicious, I'm a university student and my friends go crazy when I tell them I've made "Bananaberry Bombs"! I'm definetly going to purchase Crazy Plates to expand my...

1.0 out of 5 stars Tasteless!
These recipes are so incredibly bland! I tried several, followed to the letter, and was shocked how bland they were - I've heard so much about this book.

I know several Ukranian babas who wouldn't touch the unrolled cabbage rolls - and not because the shape isn't authentic.

Lowfat should not mean tasteless. Spices don't add a lot of calories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Update - 142 pounds lost and still going!!, Sep 6 2001

I wrote a review of this great cookbook in April when I had lost 73 pounds, using this book among other things. I just wanted to update everyone that I am still with the diet, eating 2-3 of these recipes for dinner each week, and now have lost a total of 142 pounds. I still have a few more to go, so I'm sticking with it. This book will make maintenance much easier - it has lots of great tasting and easy to prepare ideas that we have used to create our own dishes as well.

1.0 out of 5 stars All Fats are NOT Equal, Aug 3 2007

I bought this book some time ago and almost never use it. The reason - over simplification of the issue of fat in foods. There is such a thing as healthy fats. In this book, the sisters recommend using egg substitutes when the real thing is actually very low in saturated FAT! Not only that, but eggs (grain fed hens) are high in Omega-3 as well! In this same book, several recipes include BACON! Bacon is high in saturated fat and contains cancer-causing nitrates. If you want to lose weight and eat healthier, I recommend The Fat Flush Plan by nutritionist Ann Louise Gittleman.
