With a variety of quotes, engaging stories and a consistent clarity of thought, Clemmer's Leader's Digest introduces the reader to the wide scope of leadership literature. Presented in a magazine style, the Digest provides 'bites' of information for reflection or further exploration. The wide range of references in the notes section allows the interested reader to delve more deeply into particular content areas. The Leader's Digest is an enjoyable read that provokes deep thought.

5.0 out of 5 stars Breezy, practical adn humorous book on Leadership, Sept. 14 2006

This review is from: The Leader's Digest: Timeless Principles for Team and Organization Success (Paperback)
Jim Clemmer's The Leader's Digest is a refreshingly different and readable addition to the plethora of leadership books on the market today. The unique style that Clemmer employs is what makes this book easy to read and to learn from. He approaches the complex topic of leadership by creating a simple model - the Leadership Wheel, and then covers each spoke of the wheel through short narratives and bullet points, relevant quotes from leadership gurus and industry or political leaders, and interesting stories and sidebars that clearly illustrate the points he is making. Rather than a dry, academic dissertation that you find in so many leadership books, The Leader's Digest is breezy, practical and humorous. At 224 pages, The Leader's Digest covers a lot of ground at a fast pace, but without sacrificing relevant material. All in all, this is an excellent book on leadership. I keep it in my office and refer to it constantly.
