Terrific book!,

This review is from: More Creative Interventions for Troubled Children & Youth (Paperback)
More Creative Interventions for Troubled Children and YouthThis is the sequel to the book, "Creative Interventions for Troubled Children and Youth." I use the first book all the time so I was very excited when this sequel was published. It is just as good as the first book, and provides me with MORE creative activities to use with children, teens, and families. This sequel also has a chapter on Anger Management activities, which is a wonderful addition! This book is a must-have for therapists, counselors, family therapists, group facilitators, teachers, guidance counselors, group home workers, etc. Other books on this topic I recommend: Creative Interventions for Troubled Children and Youth (Lowenstein) Assessment and Treatment Activities for Children, Adolescents, and Families: Practitioners Share Their Most Effective Techniques (Lowenstein) Techniques, Techniques, Techniques (Kenney-Noziska) Jennifer Kolari MSW.,RSW Author of Connected Parenting

This book gives you even more and is a good follow up to the first book. This user friendly resource is chalk full of reproducible interventions, games, and assessment activities. This resource is widely used amongst our school counselling staff and is a must have. Children and youth find these activities engaging which helps with the therapeutic relationship and process.

Just when you start to feel that the activities you are using are a bit stale, this book comes along with even MORE creative ideas to recharge and refresh your clinical work! Written in the same useful format as Creative Interventions for Troubled Children and Youth, this book adds to your repertoire of therapeutic intervention ideas for individual and group counselling with children and adolescents. I use this resource professionally in my clinical work and I recommend it to my students in the Child & Youth Worker program.

More Creative Interventions is another great resource in Liana's line of intervention tools for work with children, youth and families. I use this book in my Child and Youth Worker classes in the college setting and the students love the easy to use format and creative activities! The book guide is excellent and the activities are well sorted regarding purpose and intended audience. A great resource for those learning about the human service field, and one that the students will keep and use throughout their careers!

Liana Lowenstein has done it again in this creative, easy-to-use resource! The activities included in this book are as useful and engaging to children as the activities in her first book, Creative Interventions for Troubled Children and Youth. If you are looking for activities that cover assessment, identifying feelings, expressing feelings, coping and self-esteem building, this is an excellent resource. I highly recommend this book.Other Books I recommend: 1) Creative Interventions for Children and Youth 2) 101 favorite play therapy techniques 3) The therapist's notebook for children and adolescents 4) Creative therapy with children and adolescents Creative interventions for troubled children & youthCreative Interventions for Children of Divorce

Therapist, Lowenstein, has written many books in this series that are used by both new and seasoned Child and Play Therapists alike. This book has reproducable activities that can be simply introduced at the Assessmsent or Treatment stage of work with traumatized children and youth. It is a helpful addition to any Child and Youth Worker's or Therapists resource library. Theresa Fraser

A Wonderful Resource,

This book is perfect for anyone working with at-risk children and adolescents. As a child therapist, I found that the activities helped to engage even children who are highly reluctant to engage in therapy. There are a wide variety of activities in the book that range in age from preschool to teenager and address just about every treatment issue you could think of. Most important, the activities are fun for the kids while also being therapeutic. I would highly recommend this book-- it's worth every penny.
