This review is from: Batman Versus Bane (Paperback)
This Graphic Novel collects: Vengeance of Bane and Bane of the Demon. Both stories are amazing, the former being preferred. Bane's origin truly is expressed in a visually striking way. Bane of the Demon explains how Bane and Ra's come together to fight off the Bat (though Batman never appears), a menace to both. I suggest this novel to anyone who wants an idea of the upcoming movie or a fan of Bane in general--a better understanding of the villain.

An Excellent Prologue to The Dark Knight Rises! O_O,

This review is from: Batman Versus Bane (Paperback)
In my great anticipation for the Dark Knight Rises, I was on a mission to read its source materials. I wholeheartedly recommend this awesome collection as an important prologue to the Dark Knight Rises, especially to the character Bane.I perceived this graphic novel as a bridge to the upcoming epic conclusion to Christopher Nolan's masterful Dark Knight Trilogy. Batman Vs. Bane collects Vengeance of Bane Vol. 1 & Bane of the Demon. Both serves as an excellent origin story to Bane. After reading this extremely satisfying collection, it made it very clear to me how Bane was an ideal choice for Nolan's final Dark Knight film; Bane as a true match & adversity to the Dark Knight. Both Bane and Bruce Wayne were trained to their mental & physical peak. I was truly in awe when I discovered that both Wayne & Bane's upbringings were both tragic, opposite, yet they mirrored & paralleled each other. I greatly empathized with Bane and the reasons of his actions because he grew up in a place of violence & oppression; where he becomes a true survivor & leader. Bane of the Demon - (I'm avoiding spoilers) Bane's ties with The League of Assassins/Shadows also made it a very logical choice for Nolan to conclude his Dark Knight story with Bane, the League of Shadows was where Nolan's Batman Begins. I want to give credit to Chuck Dixon (creator of Bane) & Chris Nolan for showcasing Bane as an intelligent, fearless and physical match/challenge to Bruce Wayne/Batman. I disliked how the 90s animated series & Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin reduced this character to merely a blunt instrument/a senseless hired gun. I only felt shortchanged because this collection was missing Vengeance of Bane Vol. 2: The Redemption. I hope that because of the success of the Dark Knight Rises, DC Comics will bring us more exciting Bane stories just like these ones. A+ A Fast & Pleasurable Read! Recommended with High-esteem!
