Highly Recommend!,
This review is from: Furniture: World Styles from Classical to Contemporary (Hardcover)
I was very interested in learning about specific styles of furniture but didn't know where to start. This book has numerous colour photographs and describes the specific styles in detail. It is a large, heavy book but well worth the money. I found it very helpful as it clearly describes the differences between styles (i.e. Art Nouveau and Art Deco) and how older styles influenced newer styles. Finally, I liked that it gave estimates on pricing. That way I could look at a piece similar to one in my local antique shop and determine whether or not it is priced appropriately.

Furniture, by Judith Millar,
This review is from: Furniture (Hardcover)
This is an excellent book to have for the coffee table or a great book to accompany someone taking a decorating course in regards to the history of furniture...or in other words this book is helpful to get hold of the historic period and the furniture of that era. I also bought 'Chairs, by Judith Millar' Excellent as well.
