This book was just as described. Great book with lots of tips for nutrition and living clean. Would recommend this for the basics, not if you are looking for recipes or meal tips.

Culture of ignorance,

This review is from: Just the Rules: Tosca's Guide to Eating Right (Paperback)
Tosca Reno has adopted and applied some popular (and less popular) healthy living theories to her lifestyle. Her being successful at losing weight doesn't make these theories true. After all losing weight has always been about burning more than you eat. That said, in her books, Tosca Reno states her personal opinion and personal beliefs and makes many recommendations that are in no way appropriate without justification or reliable sources. She is presenting some of the rules as obvious, when they are in fact being highly debated in the health community. Like saving the cooking water of your vegetables for drinking or making soups etc... highly debatable (what about pesticides and nitrites if veggies are not organic!!!) She assumes that the reader is stupid and uneducated by simply saying cheesy lines like "diet foods make you fat" "be afraid of the scientists that make food" or saying for example that a certain behavior like consuming certain foods will "give you cancer" or "send you to the hospital". It is just wrong. She is encouraging a culture of ignorance and fear. I think following Canada's food guide and staying active is much better advice than reading this book. Save your money.

I was expecting more from this book. I have all her books and this book does not provide anything new or life altering to warrant the purchase of this book, The information in her other books is sufficient. So, if you follow the advice she gives in her books and you will be on your way to good health.

Not what I expected,
This review is from: Just the Rules: Tosca's Guide to Eating Right (Paperback)
I have and love almost all of Tosca Reno's books. I understand that this one is meant to be a pocketbook but I found it to be very cheaply made and too expensive for what you get. Much of the information is redundant if you have her books. If I had seen it in person I never would have purchased it.

I pre-ordered this book and was a little worried about how it would get to my house. It was shipped out when they said it would be and arrived quickly. Great seller as there were no issues!
