5.0 out of 5 stars The Dark Knight vs the Intergalatic Headhunter
I could sum up this crossover comic in one word, intense. Brutally gorey, incredible story, and great art work makes this a classic in the realm of Comic books.

As the title implies this is Batman vs Predator, and basically in the beggining Batman does not stand a chance. The Predator seeks out prize fighters via through TV. He watches the TV and picks up the champs...

5.0 out of 5 stars The Dark Knight vs the Intergalatic Headhunter, April 12 2002
This review is from: Batman Vs Predator (Paperback)
I could sum up this crossover comic in one word, intense. Brutally gorey, incredible story, and great art work makes this a classic in the realm of Comic books.

As the title implies this is Batman vs Predator, and basically in the beggining Batman does not stand a chance. The Predator seeks out prize fighters via through TV. He watches the TV and picks up the champs or powerful political figures for his victims. The exception being Batman. In the end it's up to Batman and his intelect, as well as fighting skills to take out one of the most dangerouse creatures in the universe.

If you are comic book fan, this is a must buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cover-to-cover action!, Feb 11 2002

A very nice story. I really like it when they get more than just the main characters involved in the course of the story, and this one gives you supporting cast in spades. The fight scenes are tight and the writers did a nice job of blending the two main eventers together. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars A fun and thrilling cross-over, Dec 17 2001

The title speaks for itself: Batman vs. Predator

When a series of bloody, brutal murders suddenly strike an abnormally hot and humid Gotham city, the Dark Knight himself begins an investigation that leads to a near-fatal confrontation with the deadliest hunter in the universe, the Predator! Totally unprepared for such a brutal onslaught, a severely beaten Batman must rely on more extreme methods to win...

Whether you like one and hate the other, or if you like both titular characters, you'll love this collection! The classic atmosphere, drama and story element of the Batman comics is persistent throughout. This particular story is also one of the bloodier Batman comics in its time, so this is clearly not one for the kids...

Probably one of the best aspects of this story is the mind games between the Predator and Batman. The impact of the Predator on Gotham city is great, and after the first encounter leaves Batman almost crippled, the Predator has free run of Gotham. Throughout this time, the Predator cleverly tries to lure the wounded bat from his cave, knowing that his prey has escaped him, and the Batman is, in fact, the greatest prey in this concrete jungle. Some of the tactics involve manipulation of the bat-signal, to even a timely 'interruption' of an urgent phone call from the Commisioner to Batman himself!

As a fan of the Predator, and a former comic book reader, I can honestly say that Batman vs. Predator is one of the best comic compilations i have been able to pick up in quite some time. While the two sequels it spawned were not quite as good, this particular story has enough atmosphere, story and action to keep you reading til the very end. A great read if you are a comic book fan, and a MUST read for fans of either title character!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, fun, fun, July 28 2001
This review is from: Batman Vs Predator (Paperback)
Flat out fun. This comic would translate into an excellent movie in my opinion. I still love looking at the great art and ability of this comic genius. Never before have I seen the Predator drawn so well. I reccommend this to Batman fans, Predator fans, and anyone who loves fast paced comics such as this one. Fantastic.

4.0 out of 5 stars An enjoyable comic..., July 10 2000

I am not really a Batman fan; nor, for that matter, am I a comics fan. I am, however, a genre fan, and I love the whole Predator mythos. This comic book has wonderful, dark artwork, really keeping the mood going, and the predator "cloaking" effect looks pretty cool here. The scripting is pretty good for the most part, and while the plot isn't great, it doesn't have to be -- Batman and the Predator duke it out! The action is a little confusing at times, but mostly it works well.

The thing that bugged me most is that the predator played back recorded speech far too often, and in far too apropriate places. But his code of honor is there, his weapons are there...

My only real complaint about this graphic novel is that the pages are normal comic paper instead of the glossier "collected edition" paper to which I've become accustomed.

I recommended this book to fans of either of the title characters -- one of the better comics I've read in a while.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally.. A worthy Advesary for the Bat, April 9 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Batman Vs Predator (Paperback)
This was an excellent Batman comic; excellent writing and artwork combined. It was great for Batman to have an opponent that was so difficult to face, as Batman didn't really know what he was up against in the beginning. An excellent comic, I recommend it to all Batman/Predator fans.

4.0 out of 5 stars Batman At His Best!, Nov 29 1999
This review is from: Batman Vs Predator (Paperback)
This is the first comic featuring Predator that I have read.It was a gripping tale. The most powerful people in Gotham being hunted and murdered. The artwork was excellent and the story was ace!The reason I only gave this book 4 stars because its all action and if you want a regular Batman book then I wouldn't buy this one.But it is still ace, best comic book I have read in a long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Go Alfred Go, Mar 22 1999

This review is from: Batman Vs Predator (Paperback)
To me the test of a good Batman writer is how well they handle Commisioner Gordon and Alfred, and Dave Gibbons' alfred is only matched by Frank Miller. That alone is enough for me.
