artistically unique and compelling,
This review is from: Aeon Flux (VHS Tape)
Aeon Flux draws you into a fasinating yet grotesque world. Once there one does not want to leave. The animation being the most erotic and unique I have ever witnessed. This is adult animation at it's finest. Though plots initially may confuse, soon you learn it's complexities or simply sit back and enjoy the insanity. Aeon being the zenith of assasin / terrorist defending Monica, her country, from the evil plots and guiles of her arch enemy Trevor goodchild. Goodchild and she share an interesting love / hate relationship thus giving every sequence unexpected and interesting twists. (...) This series is a MUST SEE for any animation fan. It is the animation equvalent who's effects will eventually compare to what Tolkien did to modern fantasy science fiction.Aeon is unlike anything you have ever seen and true fans only wish more Aeon Flux adventures had been made. Hail Aeon and Hail Peter Chung !

She's too sexy and the stories are like a convoluted dream with peculiar intricacies and surprises around every turn of the twisted labyrinth that is her world. I also enjoy the music_ it works very well. Aeon, our long-legged lady in leather is ready to tease, please and kill on a whim. I hope they reissue this DVD, because it's far too brilliant a work to be out of stock. A very Original vision; she will haunt you in a wonderful way.

Call up MTV and tell them you what them to release this series on DVD, for you that don't own one, it well worth it. This was an MTV's Liquid series that was phenomenal and became its own like "The Head" and "Beavis & Butthead." I like Six Monkeys, The Matrix, Marcoss Plus, Transformers, but Aeon Flux was simply the most inspiring/ creative thing I ever seen. The series is very intellectual, funny, cruel, bizarre, action pact, creative, had love, hate and sensitive at the same time. The factitious setting is of a perverse hyper-techno future, which is grappling. The characters are well developed even only if you see them for 2 minutes. Characters have different philosophies about society and make no butt about it. The chapters are either 20 min. long or a 10 min act clip. The storyline move very fast and is very deep in underlying message. You might have to watch some segment a couple times to finally understand the concepts and jokes. With characters showing strong factual expression, there are some scenes where voice acting is neglected. The dialogue is very simple, but stylist, since poetry is an element of each characters. The artwork is bold with sharp design and every scene is very detailed. The main character is powerful woman, with strong view of herself and her action named Aeon Flux. It is her struggle against a power-hungry fascist Trevor Goodchild that is what most of the plots are centered around. Simply entertaining.

Wow! Don't think twice about these videos, they contain all the Mtv Aeon episodes with all the shorts. No other mini series could me more thought out, mysterious, and outlandish as Aeon Flux. If you want thought provoking stories with amazing twists and theories, these are the videos for you.

This 2 hour disc contains 4 original episodes from the TV series, 4 shorts seen on Liquid Television and 1 lengthy never-before-seen short. The episodes seem to be centered around Trevor Goodchild's controlled city. Episodes: The first episode deals with two sides of the city seperated. When a girl doesn't make it over with her husband, she ends up damaging her spine. This leads to an affair with Trevor and Aeon getting a little two involved with her husband. In the end, the girl ends up losing more than she had. In the second episode, Trevor begins a plan for mass clones. Aeon's close girlfriend gets caught by Trevor for these purposes and Aeon eventually gets a clone as well. However, Aeon ends up losing two people to Trevor. Her friend and herself leaving Trevor to cry. The third episode is a little tricky. In order to make mankind better, Trevor injects people with "custodians" that give them a kinder mind. Not the best episode on the disc. The last episode is the best. Aeon's close student trys to help Aeon capture a dying species that is somehow connected to Aeon's friend. Shorts: All of these shorts can be seen on the Best of Liquid Television video except for two. One called Leisure where Aeon try to experiment with a species and a lengthy short at the end of the disc dealing with a virus that kills most of Trevor's men. Overall, some of the episodes may not be the best, but this is definetly worth picking up and watching. You won't regret it.

The first video is excellently compelling. The episodes are intriguely odd and the story plots are stranger than anything I've ever seen in my life. The animated shorts are also extremely inspiring and wonderful. The second and third videos are more of an added flavor for those that need a little more to be satisfied.
