4.0 out of 5 stars Great Ozzy experience
This DVD, i do agree , don't have the image quality of a standard DVD, much more of a VHS tranfer than a digital recording. But it's no worst than dvd from Def Leppard, Rainbow, or other Dio DVD that i have already saw. But, you know what? who cares! this DVD bring you exactly to what a Ozzy concert looks like, real good songs, real good crowds, and the rythm is...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great music, but.........
I would agree with most of the other reviewers, the footage is crappy (especially "Paraniod"). The bottom line is this is Ozzy and anything from him is good. The disc is double sided and it does actually have a menu and instant track access ( on my remote I just press the menu button while the disc is playing). The best song/footage on here is "Black...

The disc is double sided and it does actually have a menu and instant track access ( on my remote I just press the menu button while the disc is playing). The best song/footage on here is "Black Sabbath", but it's still bad. I usually put the disc in, switch the TV off and enjoy the music. It gets 3 stars only because Ozzy is on here. Die hard Ozzy fans can "waste" their money (like me), otherwise- DON'T BUY!!!!!!!

I LOVE Ozzy Osbourne. He is awesome live.He has one of the best stage presences in metal. But this DVD is not a real concert. What this is the music from the Live and Loud CD played in the background played over a bunch of crappy video footage.Half of it doesn't even belong here. The music is great, but the video footage is what messes this up.If you want a real Ozzy concert, buy "Live At Budokan".If you want to get the REAL concert this was taken from, buy the CD.Also,The DVD does NOT have instant chapter access like the case says so.Plus, the DVD is two sided. This means that you have to flip it over in the middle of the concert.

3.0 out of 5 stars ....., Dec 24 2003
This review is from: Ozzy Osbourne - Live & Loud (DVD)
ok im a fan of ozzy and that DVD desapoint me because i want to see zakk wylde doing hes solos and stuff and only 2 or 3 songs you can see him doing a part of a solo, some times you see him playing another song.
In song like "Paraniod"(they put the camara zoom in and zoom out like a 100 times) and "Flying high again" (they put this video that it have nothing to do with the song) thats the side of zakk wylde but for ozzy you can see him perfectly talking to the audiense and tomy aldrige you can see him pretty good too.
well if you are looking ozzy's DVDs you really should buy "speak of the devil"!
i hope this review helps... :)

2.0 out of 5 stars Overdone and Butchered, Nov 26 2003
This review is from: Ozzy Osbourne - Live & Loud (DVD)
After seeing Ozzy on the Theatre of Madness tour in 1992, I looked forward to this release with quite a bit of anticipation, considering that my concert experience with Ozzy translated into one of the alltime best. I had not expected this as I had seen plenty of concert footage plus owning his first VHS release, The Ultimate Ozzy (to this day I think he walks back and forth on that stage as if he has to take a dump the whole time and can't push it.) But in 1992, Ozzy was re-born, he had undergone an incredible transformation physically. All members of the band were incredible players and performers to boot, culiminating in incredible energy and power...all without the aid of impressive lighting or or so much as a sparkler for pyro.

Unfortunately, this particular release is not a document of what I witnessed. As others have reviewed...it jumps around between three different concerts at different points in the tour. I do see that one of the shows used does capture the Ozzy I witnessed, but most of the shots capture Ozzy trying way too hard, obviously self concious of the fact that the show was being filmed (the show I'm referring to has Ozzy with his hair tied back ala the No More Tears video. He just doesn't seem to be behaving as he normally would on stage in those shots.) Finally, of course what you are hearing isn't actually what you are seeing obviously. It just doesn't work.

The song list alone is nothing to complain about, but you're best left to turning off the picture and just listening if you want to relive the experience. It's truly a shame as all that really needed to be done was film one show straight ahead. It seems so few in the industry realize the true goal of a concert video should always be to capture it as it is experienced, not attempt to embellish it MTV music video style.

There's all the big Ozzy classics permormed live! The audience is very good too. There's very much action! Ozzy sings better than ever! The standout tracks are "I don't Wanna Change the World", "Paranoid", "Flying High Again", and "Mama, I'm Coming Home".

I'll keep this short and sweet....

I bought this DVD expecting to see a legend at work in a LIVE concert. This DVD was nothing more than a 110 minute music video. I am above all else a big guitar fan and there were NO good close ups of Zakk's guitar solos. The few times you did get a glimpse of him playing, it was totally out of sync with the music! Absolutely the worst editing I've ever seen. I cannot believe this DVD was marketed as a compilation of live songs. Save your money people!!!

I'VE FINALLY GOTTEN OFF MY PROCRASTINATING REAR AND BOUGHT A DVD PLAYER. This is the first DVD I've ever watched. Maybe it's time to change my nickname. (DVDiot_y2k?)
This is a disc of Ozzy's NO MORE TEARS (TOURS) tour. The selection of songs is a far superior to his more recent BUDOKAN disc. This was Oz back when he could still rock. Before the world saw him throwing a 4X2 (That's what we call them in NZ. "Don't ask me I don't know") through his neighbour's window, before he got drunk and attempted to take Lola the adorable bulldog for a walk; and before he more recently went on a burrito diet and was most memorably seen screaming at the sea to "EFF OFF!" when his attempts to build a campfire were continuously thwarted. This was Ozzy the Crown Prince Of Darkness, not the Clown Prince.
The selection of material is pretty good (SUICIDE SOLUTION, IRON MAN, SHOT IN THE DARK etc) but best of all is the original Sabbath line-up coming together at the end for renditions of BLACK SABBATH and CHANGES. It's worth seeing this for those 2 tracks alone. The Sabs sound tighter and heavier than Ozzy's band, but really how could you expect Zakk Wylde (though a great guitarist) to upstage Tony Iommi, metal's pioneering riffmaster and one of the finest rock/metal guitarists EVER? If you must get an Ozzy concert DVD get this one, and if you must see BUDOKAN try renting it. This is far better value.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ozzy a no talent sell out!, Jan 18 2003
By
Sam Simon (Atlanta, Georgia) - See all my reviews
Ozzy Osbourne didn't even make most of the music or even write his lyrics. This concert video portrays Ozzy at his dumbest. Ozzy is the real life Homer Simpson, but annoying instead of funny. Ozzy's voice is shrill, flat, off key and bad. The only reason it doesn't sound too ear bursting on the video is because Sharon insisted that Ozzy re-record and do voice overs in the studio.

I agree with the other guy who stated that Ozzy is not to be given the credit for starting metal. Ronnie James Dio was playing in bands, recording, and in the music industry way before Ozzy was. Ronnie James Dio is an actual composer and musician...

Zack Wyld is a good guitarist but he is no where near as great as Randy Rhodes or Jake E lee. This video portrays Zack flaunting his long girly hair and hamming up the concert...
