5.0 out of 5 stars Great read, even for the non-religious
A friend recommended this book to me, and I started it with reluctance, being a non-religious person. I really loved it and plan on getting my own copy. It is a wonderful and moving love story, and is not preachy at all. Francine Rivers brings the story to life with her descriptive and heart felt writing. 2.0 out of 5 stars Crosses the Line
This book came across to me as a Christian's excuse to read smut. One could write a similar story full of sexual details about David and Bathsheba, but I don't think it would honor God. I realize the author was trying to portray the theme of amazing forgiveness, but it got lost for me somewhere in all the sex.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read, even for the non-religious, Jun 4 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: REDEEMING LOVE (Paperback)
A friend recommended this book to me, and I started it with reluctance, being a non-religious person. I really loved it and plan on getting my own copy. It is a wonderful and moving love story, and is not preachy at all. Francine Rivers brings the story to life with her descriptive and heart felt writing. The people are not made out to be saints, just real people with real life struggles trying to make it in the world. It really is a great book...not what I expected from Christian fiction, so I was really pleasantly surprised.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great example of love, Nov 1 2007
By
This review is from: Redeeming Love (Hardcover)
Micheal is a character who shows us an example of the unending patience of God's love for us. Angel is a character who shows us how much sin and shame can seperate us from the very thing we want...unconditional love. The story of how these two get together is a reflection of the way we come to know God. Francine Rivers ties it all together with a craft well honed. I can hardly wait for her to write more romance novels with Christian values reflected through out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Changes Lives, Feb 9 2011
This review is from: Redeeming Love (Paperback)
This book definitely changed my life. Francine Rivers dedicated this book to all those who hurt and hunger and she was very wise in doing so. The dedication was what caught my attention. As I started to read, I started to have dificulties finishing the book as it was very hard to read about Angel's struggles in life. She found God the hard way like most of us do. Through the struggles in life is unfortunitely the way most of us come to have a strong relationship with the Lord. Although this is a fictional book, Angel's courage and determination really changed me. It really made me realise how important the Lord is. How he allows bad things to happen to us in order for better things to come of it. He is an amazing God and He will always be with us. This book really expresses how unconditional His love for you and I truly is. If you have ever gone through something hard in life, or even if you're just looking for a fantastic book to read, this really is the book for YOU.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Book you'll ever read, Feb 2 2011
This review is from: Redeeming Love (Paperback)
This is the best book I have ever read, and I don't know that I'll ever find another book this good. I am a very slow reader, but read this thick book in 3 days because I could not put it down. Very well written, and inspiring.

Really really really good. Be prepared to sit and read and sit and read because you won't be able to put the book down. Get a blanket and a comfortable chair, brew a pot of tea and enjoy.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great read, Sep 10 2010
This review is from: Redeeming Love (Paperback)
Francine Rivers writes beautiful with her descriptive metaphors and really paints a great picture with the words. A few very tough subjects in the book, however it is a page turner to the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best lifetime read, Jan 3 2010
This review is from: Redeeming Love (Hardcover)
I was given this book as a gift and had planned to put it in my suitcase to read on the beach in February. Read the first page to see if it would captivate me and didn't put it down. Wow wow wow ... this is by far the best book I've ever read. Like some of the other reviewers, I am not a regular church-goer but I do consider myself spiritual and a believer in something ... regardless, this book will get you and keep on going.

5.0 out of 5 stars Favorite book by far, couldn't put it down!, Jun 17 2008

This review is from: Redeeming Love (Paperback)
I started reading this book thinking that I might end up being disappointed and wasn't sure I wanted to go through that seven hundred and something pages. But as soon as I started to read, I was hooked, I ended up reading it in a few days but when I wasn't reading it, I was thinking about what was going to happen. I don't think that I have ever cried so much while reading a book in my whole entire life, by far this is my favorite book.
