I read this book and once I got passed a few dry spots I found it to be a very good read. Although I already new most of the five secrets it seems to hit home when you read it in this context. I purchased 3 more books and gave two to my daughters and one to my brother.

Can't put it down so filled with very useful information that will make you smile...... I recieved the item in great time read the reviews and each one of them is very accurate

I enjoyed the book. John as always is thought provoking and makes some great points through the interviews of the many elders. I always find it intesting to hear the thoughts of those who have journeyed a while here on earth. Grab a copy of this book and share it with friends and family. It will definitely be a conversation starter for many. I agree with John that many people are afraid of their own death, this books helps us to see that is not necessarily a bad thing but part of the journey.

The Five Secrets You Must Discover Before You Die is a beautiful and moving book which reminded me of what really matters. Based on almost 250 interviews with people from 60-106 (all of whom were identified by others as the one person they knew who had found lasting happiness), the book is full of interesting stories about the lives of these people. Practical yet poetic, it warmed my heart while providing real wisdom for living more fully. Well done and a great companion to his previous book, Second Innocence, which is also a great read.

At age 66 (then) I was somewhat skeptical to buy this book thinking it was like a doomer read.
To my surprise it was filled with the most positive healing words I have read. It also confirmed much to my that I was already on track to a well lived life.If one feels that there is something lacking in their life this book is it. People of many races & ages were given an opportunity to share how they & their ancestors lead a rich, appreciative life. There is no gloom or doom just the most inspirational lessons that all must read & employ to a richer life. I could go on almost as long as the book itself. I also gave a copy to a dear friend who was saddened by her dads passing. She is now better with the world because some of her dad's way were in this wonderful book.It could be the best book after The Bible.

A great book. John Izzo has found just the right balance between sharing wise elders stories and providing insightful commentary on the themes and learnings that emerged from the 200+ interviews. I read a significant number of books each year but seldom find myself using bookmarks to identify passages and stories I want to read again. The Five Secrets has reminded me of what I already know deep inside, but too often forget to access. His Weekly/Daily Reflection Questions for each of the secrets have provided me with a practical way to explore and build upon their presence in my life.

This is a really great book! It's full of wisdom, and has throughout a spirit of real discernment. I read about 2-3 books a week, on average, and this is by far my favorite within the past year or so. Actually, it's been a busy reading year, so out of probably around 150 or so books read within the past year, this would be the one I'd first recommend to others. I have even given many copies already to family members and good friends, and have even suggested it for an adult sunday school class at my church. .

John Izzo has given us all a gift in this book, a wise and well written guide to what's most important in life.

The ancient philosophers of real life, like Cicero and Seneca, would be proud of Izzo for providing this book to us all. I recommend you order a copy for yourself and at least five for friends.
