I bought this book solely based on the product description. I am extremely impressed with the content, it has step-by-step instructions of how to do pretty much everything. From bee-keeping to butchering pigs, how to dry herbs and recipes to use them in, this book has something for everyone. The biggest problem I have is the physical size of the book. It is 13x10in and since it is softcover, this makes it somewhat awkward to handle. I would buy a second copy if I could get it in hardcover.

What an AWESOME book !!! There's so much good information pertaining to gardening, growing & cooking with vegetables & herbs, herbal remedies, animal care and even how to build your own chicken coop. Even a section on crafts. I'm sure I'll get years of benefit from this book. I've also given 3 copies to family & friends and they were thrilled to receive it.

This book is for sure a storehouse of wisdom and know-how and a very interesting read, but it doesn't really make an attractive coffee table book and given that it's the size of one, that's a problem. It is very large - a fact I didn't pick up on when I ordered it. Also, take note that it's softcover. There are a lot of typo's throughout and, I believe, some misprints. One of the recipes I made had obviously misprinted the amount of one ingredient and had I not picked up on that, it would have ended up fed to the dog!

Be warned! Like the other reviewers are saying, this book is SLOPPY AND FLOPPY! It's uncomfortable and awkward in the hands. And seems somewhat delicate also. No question on the solid information within, however. I would also buy another copy in hard cover.

Although I find the print is very small and hard to read, I realize what a huge book it would be if bigger font was used. It truly does what the title says. I am a country girl and now living in a small town, I'd like to put some of these things to work right here in my back yard.

Both of my parents had to chance to grow up on a farm, but I've been a city dweller my entire life. When I first saw this book I wondered why anyone would want a reference book that doesn't sit nicely on a self, but it really does have a bit of everything. I've never raised bees or made cheese, but I feel that after reading these sections of the book I'd actually be able to start with the basics and be able to ask the right questions. In general a fun book with a bit of everything.
