2.0 out of 5 stars Should have been a 2 chapter book, Feb 3 2009

Daniel should not have included so many authors in this book.

Ng's chapter on how to not be a complete tourney donk is totally useless. You're better off carrying a hand ranking card around.

Brunson's chapter doesn't have much content but it is a fun read.

Lindgren's chapter on "Internet Poker" is quite funny. I'm not sure how you pick someone that says he does not use tracking software and ignores shortstacks because there's big stacks to worry about to write a chapter about online poker.

Paul's chapter is decent, but it's just general info that you can find anywhere.

Williams' chapter on mixing it up is the first really good chapter in this book. This book should have been 1/2 as long with Williams and Negreanu collaborating on playing smallball/LAG. That would have been a much better book with a target audience instead of a little bit of everything, and a lot of nothing with no audience in particular in mind.

I also got a good lol out of the intro where Cardoza states that this book is the 2nd best poker book ever written next to Super System (and the 3rd best book hasn't been written yet).

2.0 out of 5 stars Did not live up the hype..., July 17 2008

Would not recommend this to anyone. Don't get me wrong. Daniel has some useful advice if you like to play a loose smallball style but much of the rest of the book is just garbage filler from people you would expect would have more to discuss. Even Erik Lindgren's section is extremely boring. Evelyn Ng should not have been included in this. Maybe a little conflict of interest going on there Daniel?

Not much math is discussed at all so if you like to learn that stuff you'd be much better off buying 'No-Limit Hold'em Theory and Practice' which is easily the best book I've ever read.
