4.0 out of 5 stars Major twist!, July 27 2011
This review is from: Invincible Volume 3: Perfect Strangers - New Printing (Paperback)
Invincible volume 3: Perfect strangers contains issues 9-13. It seems things aren't what they seem to be in the world of Invincible. But with the concluding ending of the last trade this was expected!

This trade is definitely worth picking up as is and will be a milestone and essential arc to Invincible.

The battles here are intense and quite gory. These are the type of battles you would expect when the world is at stake, and the art by Walker doesn't disappoint.

My main gripe with this is that Kirkman really fails to explore the emotions the characters are going through. After reading the first three trades it seems like these stories are very action driven, and tend to shy away from character development. With that being said if you're looking for cool battles then this is a good pick-up, but if you looking for a book with well though character development Invincible may not be the book for you.

Overall I give this 4 stars. The twist was interesting, but felt it was too compacted and should have expanded a few more issues. As stated it will be an essential story to the Invincible universe.
