A beautiful book of Handknit Holiday gifts, Oct 11 2009
This review is from: Handknit Holidays: Knitting Year-Round for Christmas, Hanukkah, and Winter Solstice (Hardcover)
Handknit Holidays has a good variety of projects to try. The patterns range from the simple and small (i.e., pom pom garland and apres ski herchief) to the more larger and complex (i.e., evergreen shawl). It also has patterns that will appeal to kids and adults alike.
I am currently knitting the Log Cabin Sock and can report that the instructions and chart for this pattern is well written and clear. I am looking forward to making more of these socks and possibly trying a few other interesting patterns (e.g., counterpane purse and flap-top mittens) in the book.

Lovely book, Mar 2 2006
This review is from: Handknit Holidays: Knitting Year-Round for Christmas, Hanukkah, and Winter Solstice (Hardcover)
I haven't made anything out of this book yet, but the list of things I hope to make is very long... There is a nice mix of shorter and longer projects, a number of which are suitable for the whole year, or at least winter. The one issue that I do have with this book is that some of the yarns are rather obscure and the gauge is given in pattern, so substituting may be a bit tricky.
