5.0 out of 5 stars The YOUCAT is not just for Youth, Dec 18 2011
This review is from: YOUCAT (Paperback)
We have been reading this together in the family - adults down to younger teens and we have all enjoyed it and learned so much. A more approachable catechism, Great for RCIA, confirmation gifts and just to read.

This book helps to understand the complexity of the cathecism so that a proper acceptance of catholicism is taken. The wording is simple enough to follow.

YouCat is a wonderful summary of the "Catechism of the Catholic Church", suitable for adults as well as youths. A much easier read than the Catechism, more concise, and if you like, could be used as a supplement to the more detailed Catechism. Our adult catechism class will be using it as our base, referring to the larger Catechism if more research is needed. I have given it to my grandchildren as a resource to be used in conjunction with the Religion class they have at school.

4.0 out of 5 stars A new catechism for the young found at Amazon.ca, July 21 2012

This review is from: YOUCAT (Paperback)
A surprisingly contemporary, attractive, orthodox catechism for young and also old.The book's format uses questions and answers. Alongside the main text of questions and answers can be read short definitions, comments of important or recent saints, recent popes, and Church Councils for which the sources are given. These various aphorisms often help to interpret the answers to questions. The book is divided under the following headings: What what we believe; How we celebrate the Christian mysteries; How we are to have a life in Christ; How should we pray. What a good way to organize a catechism.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bravo, July 29 2011
This review is from: YOUCAT (Paperback)
With this book we now have a fantastic tool to speak about faith. It is specifically made for youth and it is written in their own words. The book addresses many questions including: What does the Church think about globalization? May a priest repeat something he has learned in confession? What is heaven? How can Sacred Scripture be "truth" if not everything in it is right?
