A great story about two marathon running icons - beautifully written and researched. Gives you an insight into what made Salazar and Beardsley tick and how their lives fell apart afterwards. And the race? Absolutely hands down the greatest marathon ever run - in the US or anywhere else in the world. John Brant has done a great job.

This book was written very well, capturing the mood, thoughts, and spirit of the competitors. Anyone who loves running and racing is sure to enjoy reading this thrilling story of one of the most famous races to happen on American soil.
