This is a great book with hats for both beginner and more advanced knitters. There are 25 hat patterns in the book and I would definitely make 18-20 of them. Each hat is shown in several photos. There is one hat specifically for men but I would say it could work for both men and women. It was very easy to find a suitable yarn at my LYS for my first project, the hat on...

Nice patterns for the most part, but geared to the younger crowd. Good for me as I knit a lot for charity and like to make something nicer than your average charity hat. They're mostly head huggers like the cover pick, with interesting twists on the basic hat. Useful as there are only so many dead basic hats one person can knit before losing one's marbles...

Nice patterns for the most part, but geared to the younger crowd. Good for me as I knit a lot for charity and like to make something nicer than your average charity hat. They're mostly head huggers like the cover pick, with interesting twists on the basic hat. Useful as there are only so many dead basic hats one person can knit before losing one's marbles.

One day, someone is going to write a book of sophisticated hats for people over the age of 30, and/or hats for people who like brims. This isn't it, so it's not my perfect hat book, but it's good.

This is a great book with hats for both beginner and more advanced knitters. There are 25 hat patterns in the book and I would definitely make 18-20 of them. Each hat is shown in several photos. There is one hat specifically for men but I would say it could work for both men and women. It was very easy to find a suitable yarn at my LYS for my first project, the hat on the front cover. Overall, a great book and definitely worth buying.
