The content is laid out really well, with great diagrams and pictures, as well having chapter summaries and review questions, but on that note...
Poor editing, I'm not sure who proof-read this book but I'm fairly confident in saying they were not actually checking it for technical errors. Simple things like "modern hard drives are much LESS resistant to vibration, but can still be damaged when bumped or knocked," when it actually should be MORE, or forgetting/adding letters in words (power stripe). As well as confusing/missing steps to troubleshooting the electrical system. I must say however I have not finished the book, but overall the content is easy to understand, barring all the mistakes.
I have mixed feelings so far about this book. Less knowledgable users may not catch the mistakes, and that could be a problem... especially since the book claims you'll go from just-a-user to i-can-fix-this level.
