The new Prince Valiant reprints are great. The oversized volumes let you appreciate the great art that Hal Foster provided. My son loves reading these books with me and I think he is now a Prince Valiant fan like his dad. If you like fantastic art and a medieval story, you can't go wrong with this series of reprints of Foster's masterpiece.

This one was definitely worth the wait. Fantagraphics' previous efforts (Peanuts, Popeye, etc.) have been terrific, but with Prince Valiant they've out-done themselves. Crisp blacks, reproduced from original proofs; delicate, authentic colors; heavy, matte paper stock; top-notch extras, including an interview with Hal Foster himself.As for the content - both artwork and writing amply justify Foster's legendary status in the comics pantheon. I can't WAIT for the next volume. Get this NOW!! |
