very interesting book, purchased for a trip we where taking to California. Had a lot of usfull information for us to read in advance.

Although I have always loved Lonely Planet guides, we weren't impressed with this one. I realize it's difficult to include all necessary information - there simply isn't enough page space - but this guide was still lacking some information. We found it wasn't all that descript in the location of certain things (campgrounds mostly)... all it would say is "head south" and when we did we would reach a dead end. It also didn't include many locations that were indeed there. Like I said, I may be asking too much in wanting all that info, and on the whole it did include plenty of valid info, but I found that this guide wasn't as good as others I've used from Lonely Planet.
