Discover Thailand
Lovely guidebook, not too big and with lots of images! Seems really useful, although I will test it in Thailand in the next few months.

Flashy but Lacking...
The book had great pictures and maps. I liked the rundowns of each region, and it made pre travel research great. However, it copied word for word information from the original LP Thailand guide, but did not include the contact information of the different restaurants and places to stay. The book was great for getting a basic overview of attractions and areas...

The book had great pictures and maps. I liked the rundowns of each region, and it made pre travel research great. However, it copied word for word information from the original LP Thailand guide, but did not include the contact information of the different restaurants and places to stay. The book was great for getting a basic overview of attractions and areas you would like to see, but for more in depth information go with the original LP Thailand. Safe Travels!

It's a different kind of a guide book from what Lonely Planet is noted for. Fine in it's own right,'genre', but in my case not quite what I wanted. ... Not a backpackers budget travel book. Heavy to pack around because of the glossy heavy weight paper, and too many pic's and not enough info. If you are curious, and thinking of buying, I would recommend trying to locate a copy and see for yourself.
