This is part one of a three-part series about the three August brothers, their disturbing, violent past (they were terribly abused), and the women who enter their lives. It also is a suspense/thriller - this plot is carried through the books and nicely resolved in the third book. The series is a dark erotic romance, and boy does it deliver on the erotic!

Ms. Lora Leigh writes erotic novels with strong sexual themes that some may find disturbing. If you find the very idea of sex with multiple partners, non-missionary position sex in every room of the house, not to mention sex in the barn, sex by the pool, etc., or the alpha male dominant-type hero disturbing, this is not the book for you, toots. The hint of insest is open to interpretation (remember Woody Allen?) and is not gratuitous. Personally, I found Ms. Leigh amazingly successful in showing why these virile brothers embraced the unusual (some may say deviant) lifestyle they did; I was able to accept the premise for these particular people, in this fictional setting.

I would have given five stars, but the book is poorly edited. Editing improved in the next two books in the series. Keep in mind that this is not classic literature - it's erotica.

Warning - if you read this and like it, you will want to read the rest of the series immediately, and you may stay up all night doing so.

Marly's Choice by Lora Leigh was my first menage book that I ever read. I was pleased with this story. It's a unique book filled with lots of hot sex and a wonderful storyline about three brothers who while teenagers were sexually abused by a family member.

They escaped their abuser but now they have a unique bond where they prefer to share their women.

Marly's Choice is mainly about the eldest August brother, Cade and the woman he and his brothers grew up with, Marly.

Both Cade and Marly are really sexually attracted to each other and there are some of the best sex scenes I've ever read in this book (as well as Lora Leigh's other two books in this series - Sarah's Seduction and Heather's Gift).

The menages between Marly, Cade and his two brothers I thought were fantastic and really well written and quite arousing.
If you love menages this is a MUST read!!!!

Besides hot sex there is a suspenseful story going on too that brings the brother's past back to haunt all of them.

Like I said this book was my FIRST menage book and after experiencing it and the other two I don't want to go back to straightlaced vanilla romance books ever again. LOL.

First off let me say, if you are looking for a book with extreme and hot sex then this is a purchase for you. If, however, you are looking for a book with true love then please...FOR THE LOVE OF GOD...pass this book on.

Marly and Cade have been destined to be. She's been in love with him since she was a little girl. Cade is older then Marly, and extremely protective of her. Yet, as she grows older his feeling become very sexual in nature. Since they aren't related by blood this isn't necessarily a bad premise. Most ole school readers have seen this replayed in Harlequin books of the past. LOL...But this is where the old school and the 'new school' come into play.

Cade has been abused in the past. The author doesn't really go into detail explaining this abuse, but somehow it makes him want to 'share' his women with his two younger brothers. And, when I say share...I MEAN SHARE IN THE MOST ULTIMATE SENSE.

I'll be honest...the sex is hot...but that's all there is to it. I could not relate to a male, alpha or otherwise, who gets some kick in sharing his woman. I find that gross and disgusting. And, any true man who love his woman would not want to share. Cade's relationship with Marly is borderline incest, and too disgusting to be true love. Though, the sex is hot. If you dig this...then purchase this book as an erotica only. But, don't fool yourself into thinking this is a romance with erotic overture.

You will be sorely disappointed.

This is one of the best books I have ever had the pleasure to read. The characters of Marly and Cade heat up the pages and make for some intensely erotic scenes. Cade and his brothers Brock and Sam lived through terrible abuse as young men and only the love of Marly can help them overcome the anger and outrage, and bring love to these wonderfully deserving men again. Ms. Leigh's excellent writing style brings the characters to life and makes them so realistic you will become part of their story. Her love scenes scorch the pages and are never ordinary. The beginning of a three part series this book was life changing for me in that if was the first time I had read such an intensely emotional, and suspenseful story that was also a fabulous erotic romance. I have devoured everything Ms. Leigh has ever written, but this one started it all for me. You will love these characters and you won't be able to stand to wait to get your hands on the sequels.

This was my first Lora Leigh book. It is somewhat of a dark story, where its heroine Marly brings hope, love and light to the troubled hero and his two brothers. It is a story of how the past comes back to haunt the main characters and their attempts to break free. I could not take a break from reading this as I was caught in the moment. I laughed at Marly's mischievous attempts to seduce Cade and his struggle to fight the attraction. There is suspense, great dialogue and hot sex. I was a little shocked by Cade's very close relationship with his brothers and what they wanted Marly to bring into that relationship to make it even closer. But I got over it quickly because it worked well with the story line and was very tastefully done. As a result of reading this book, I took a liking to Lora Leigh's writing style and have gone on to reading more of her books and it always keeps getting better and better. I highly recommend this book!

Torn between honor and pride, Cade August has been holding Marly at bay for years. He helped bringing her up since she was 12, and he feels wrong for his feeling for her. Marly on the other hand has been in love with him for years. And she wants him to see that she's finally grown up.
Cade has a hidden past, one of torture and depravity, a painful secret that he shares with his brothers, and he is sure that it, along with his intimate practices, will scare and drive Marly away. Unbeknown to him, Marly is not only aware of his sexual practices; she's also been preparing her self for them.
Marly's Choice was an intense read. Lora Leigh has once again blended a great suspenseful story with a highly erotica romantic one. This is a great beginning to a wonderful series, and I highly recommend it to lovers of erotic stories.

This book may not be for the faint of heart, but for those who love a good, nail biting, mind blowing erotic romance, this is the book for you.
This story is about Cade August and is the first book in a series. As you read you'll rant and rave and cry over what the August brothers have had to endure. Finding a way to continue after a horrendously abusive childhood wasn't easy, but in his own way Cade August managed just that with the help and love of Marly.
Steamy sex scenes and sensual romance with a twist. One of my many favorites of author Lora Leigh.

Marly's Choice is a sensually erotic book about overcoming past tragedy, brotherly bonds and choices people make. The emotional story begins with Marly returning home from college for a funeral and her decision to finally let Cade August know that she wants him for her own. Cade also wants Marly, but is worried that his intensely sexual needs will scare her away. Secrets from the past not only threaten their relationship, but also their lives.

Lora Leigh writes deeply touching and rich stories that awaken not only your emotions, but your sensuality as well. I was drawn into the story of Marly and Cade and wanted to know more about them. This story was an excellent beginning to a wonderful series and you should read the stories of the other August brothers as soon as possible.

When it comes to conveying an emotion of love, lust, or fear, Ms. Leigh only improves with every book. Marly's choice is the first of four in her August Series that is as hot as the month that they get their name from.

At the time when a young man is at his peak, just starting to explore his sexuality, the August men are taught that trust is a precious commodity.

Marly was just a child when she was brought to the August family to foster. She came from an abusive family and trust and love is a hard thing for her to give. When she finally admits that she has fallen in love with the eldest August brother, she finds that it is easy to love Cade and his brothers who worship and adore her. They realize that they have raised Marly to be a beautiful young woman who knows her mind and is willing to fight to get what she wants.

Cade sees Marly as a younger sister but she is determined to make him see that she is so much more and is no relation to him at all. He finds he must try to reconcile his love for Marly with his duty and love for his brothers.

Should you buy this book? Yes, definitely.
Should you trust Ellora's Cave publishing? Oh, yes, definitely.

Don't be afraid to open your mind to new experiences. This book is sexually explicit and definitely for a mature adult.

Lora Leigh is one of my absolute favorite authors of those who write books published by the erotic romance publisher, Ellora's Cave. This particular book, Marly's Choice, is the first in a series of four books about the August brothers. This first book tells the story of Cade August and Marly. Marly is in love with Cade and wants him to recognize the fact that she's all grown up now and more than ready to become his lover. Cade, who has spent much of his life protecting and sheltering Marly, is hesitant to reveal the depth of his sexual needs to Marly. Marly, however, is determined to break through his shields and reach the man inside... the man who secretly hungers for Marly. I loved watching Marly and her co-conspirators push Cade to his very limits -- and when he finally breaks, all hell breaks lose! Cade is a fiercely sexual alpha male with deep-seated needs. Watching him eventually coax Marly into accepting and meeting his sexual needs (as well as the needs of his brothers) will make you weak in the knees. This book is sexually intense and very erotic. If you want to read an erotic romance novel that will take your break away, here's the one to do it. Once you read this book, you'll want to continue with the rest of the books in this series, each featuring one of the brothers. (Note, at the time this review was written, I think the rest of the books in this series are available only in electronic form from Ellora's Cave. They are well worth pursuing. If you've not tried e-books yet from Ellora's Cave, you are missing out on some fabulously erotic and amazing romance!) Lora Leigh is the author of a number of other books and series, which are not to be missed either! Particularly her Feline Breed series and her Wolf Breed series. Everything Lora Leigh writes is passionate magic!
