Strong insights on bitterness, April 5 2004
This review is from: How to Be Free from Bitterness (Paperback)
This book is a set of several fairly short essays directly or closely related to the theme of bitterness. The first essay is the centerpiece, and worth far more than the price of this book. The author goes in to a careful analysis of what bitterness is, how to detect it, how it affects us, how the non-Christian world deals with it (ineffectively), and how Christians are to respond. Other essays deal with related topics, especially bitterness toward parents.
I must give this book five stars as it is clearly written (if slightly repetetive in places to make a point), contains many insights to the nature of bitterness, gives clear and practical guidance for dealing with it, and is based on Scripture.
The direct, pratical application provided in this book is what struck me most. I highly recommend it for personal study, even if you think you're not bitter!
