This is definitely a good read. It has humour, mystery, and wonderful plot twists with well-integrated light and dark forces at work. The characters are engaging and the prose is dynamic. Truly enjoyable. Best of all, Bedford is almost done the sequel, which I'm eagerly awaiting.

I must start with a confession. Yes, I happen to know the author and I'm sure anyone reading this review will be shocked at this revelation. Okay, maybe not, especially if you have visited the author's or publisher's sites, read the excerpt and compared my name with that of a character introduced on the first page.

Now that we have full disclosure out of the way, I shall wax poetic about this novel. The story is pretty much all about a humble junior mechanic who helps this minor character -- some guy named Spider if memory serves -- figure out how a dead body came to be inside a time machine brought in for repair. Naturally this Spider fellow tries to take credit for solving the mystery, but it is obvious his assistant is the real brains in their two man outfit, for it is he who stays home and keeps the business going while Spider is out gallivanting up and down the timeline meeting girls and generally enjoying himself.

Seriously, folks ... this is K.A. Bedford's fourth novel and he is proving himself to be a talent that is in it for the long haul. Each of his novels has been his best so far, and this one continues the pattern. It is filled with twist and turns, startling revelations, and plenty of humour; all of which have become his stock in trade.

To new and seasoned Bedford fans alike: highly recommended.
