I have been looking for a book like this for years. The only other mention of a cookbook of Baltic foods was not only out of print, but used copies were going for over $400 US !! I used the book in preparing a Christmas Eve meal for extended family and they were delighted. The food was absolutely delicious ! It also brought back a lot of good memories among the older people there (including myself.)

The book was very informative. I learned that while these lands were part of the former Soviet Union, (to fully conquer and obliterate the culture) these traditional foods and the methods used to prepare them were apparently so strongly forbidden that now the natives of these lands have to ask emigres for "how to"s.

I have to order the book again for myself. I was compelled to give my copy to my sister as a gift. I have to do it soon, the rest of my family will likely be ordering it too, and I predict it too will soon be out of print.
