This book is helpful for those spontaneous and impulsive individuals who need help. Sometimes you need to take a deep breath before speaking. Colourful and good reading. It is worth having it in your collection of good reads.

Powerful!,
This review is from: My Mouth Is a Volcano! (Paperback)
I read this book to a grade one class with one student in mind. It was wonderful and the student recognized himself in the story by crying out "He is like me." I was so impressed as the teacher talks weren't working but the book helped the student recognize how others may feel and all I needed to do is say "Volcano" and he would know that he had to listen to others and put his hand up to speak. Very powerful.

A great book to address the issue of interrupting in a classroom! A great story with a super lesson. I love it and my kids did too.

Easy for children to understand and did not make them feel like there was something wrong with them, rather that it is normal childhood behaviors to be like the kid in the book.

Love this book! It has been a useful tool in the classroom. My students really understood the story and enjoyed relating to the boy in the story. It is especially helpful to use the activity guide with it.

As an elementary teacher, I loved this story. It was a great way to talk to my class about interrupting. I have a few "volcanoes" and I could see that they really related to this story. Great explanation of how others feel when they are interrupted. Very glad I've added this to my collection.
