I saw this cook book at a friends and just had to order it. I would recommend it to most people.

A great baking recipe book, where you know that the outcome will always taste good given the research behind the recipes. I've had the book for a month and a half, made several recipes and all have turned out great. I find their 'prep time' guidelines to be a little on the low side (but maybe that is just me being slow).
Generally, thumbs up. The only reason I didn't give this book 5 stars is because the recipes aren't always exactly the same as the sister mag cooks illustrated or the Americas test kitchen show. I'd still like to read the write ups on the recipes like they have in their other cookbooks.
So all in all, it wasn't exactly what I expected, but I still love it anyway. I think you'll all enjoy it, and it will become one of your kitchen staples.

A goto book for baking. Has a lot of basic recipes and helpful tips. But of course they have some fancy stuff too. I love America's Test Kitchen books. I have yet to make anything that didn't turn out perfect. Hope you enjoy it too!

I just love the Family Cookbooks from America's Test Kitchen. The baking book is well written and it gives good advice.

I really like this book. I enjoy baking a lot and buy quite a bit of baking books. What I like about this book is that it uses ingrediants that I can easily find and often already have. I like how it suggests what appliances you should get and the brands that they found is good after testing other brands. I also like how they give suggestion on how to replace ingrediants. I'm the type of person who doesn't always plan when I'm baking and it's nice to know that can replace some of the ingrediants. It's also nice because they give suggestions what they they thought helps to make the recipe successful.

I've tried 2 recipes which turn out great and am excited to try out other recipes.

I'm into bread nowadays, especially sourdough. What I didn't like about that section is that they only suggested buying sourdough starter. It would be nice to show both - purchased sourdough starter and self-made starter.
