A UFO Gem,

This review is from: Strange Company: Military Encounters with UFOs in World War II (Paperback)
This book is a ufology gem. Scholarly, well written, with footnotes (pages 221-266), documents, (pages 267-280), a sighting index (pages 281-296) and regular index. This book is dedicated to Leonard Stringfield and there is a picture of him as a Sergeant in 1945. Leonard Stringfield was the author of the book, SITUATION RED. In his book Stringfield mentions a UFO encounter near the Japanese island of Iwo Jima, but gives no details (SITUATION RED, page 165). Keith Chester gives us the full story in STRANGE COMPANY of what happened between the islands of Ie Shima and Iwo Jima (at pages 191 to 193) and he also reproduces a painting of the objects seen over the Pacific ocean. This forms the basis for the cover of the book. There are also interviews with Stringfield. This book shows that the military had no idea of what to think about the foo fighters, and that many thought that this was advanced German technology. Only to find, after the War, that the German pilots were seeing the same type of unidentified aircraft. Keith Chester has put a lot of work into this book, and it shows. It is well written, well researched and an absolute gem.
