I was dissapointed with this book and its companion, the quick start guide. The target audience seems too broad and therefore the information is not detailed enough. I was anticipating a book more geared towards the athlete who spends quite a bit of time training, not an off the couch guide to training. If I wanted a training program I would have bought that, which there are really amazing and tailored books out there for. A book like this really needs to target the athlete who struggles to lose those 5, 10 or even 30 pounds.... and they are out there. Take a cross section of any Ironman event and these people are training 15 hours each week but struggle to reach their optimal racing weight. A book needs to be written with these people in mind!
