Both of the Happy Herbivore cookbooks are very impressive. They are pretty much my go to cookbooks now(sorry other cookbooks). For those of you who cook with little oil these books are perfect. They taught me many tricks to cooking with no oil and the baking always turns out even better than expected. I have owned a lot of cookbooks but none are as consistent in every recipe turning out so great.If you know a new vegan these are great as a first cookbook. They do not try to emulate non Vegan food as much as some other cookbooks do. Instead they celebrate the amazing flavors of plant based cooking.

I started a vegetarian diet about 4 months ago. I consider myself lucky to have chosen "Everyday Happy Herbivore" as my first vegetarian cookbook purchase.I have tried about 15 different recipes from it so far...and no word of a lie...they ALL turned out to be delicious and satisfying. The recipes are simple and the flavors complex...who could ask for anything more? I wish I had gotten this book years ago...I feel much more energetic eating vegetarian and I don't feel guilty about eating meat anymore!I LOVE this cookbook! One of my favorite recipes is the "Sweet Potato Dal" soup/stew on page 114. There is NO excuse not to cook from scratch when the recipes are this easy and rewarding!

I have Lindsay's first book Happy Herbivore, as well as Everyday Happy Herbivore. I love them both, they are the only two cookbooks that I keep out of my cupboard on a constant basis. The recipes are so simple and delicious! I flip through the book regularly and read the recipes to plan meals for the week without becoming discouraged or intimidated (like a lot of cook books) since there isn't huge ingredient lists or complicated cooking methods. I usually have the ingredients on hand and it is easy to make substitutions with most recipes.I also love eating a low fat diet without processed oils. Since I have started eating this way, I have finally shed the last few pounds I was wanting to take off but seemed to never be able too. Food is also much tastier to me now and I have tons of energy! There are so many new great recipes in Everyday Happy Herbivore, I can't wait to try them all!

I love a cookbook with great pictures and this one has great pictures! I also like her icons on each recipe that represent things like 30 minutes or less, fat-free, gluten-free etc. Her Tex Mex Shepherd's Pie is worth the price of the book, in itself!

Very good book - nicely laid out, with great pictures and ease of use. What would even make it more top notch is to make the recipes low sodium too. Would recommend this highly to all!
