I have been waiting for this book for years! My friend, who is Hungarian also received this cookbook from her mother and since, I have been borrowing it and searching high and low everywhere for it...even in Hungary on one of my trips. When I came back home, I went to a cookbook store and they sadly told me that the printer went out of business in Germany and will not print it again. Then one day while traveling in the US, I looked up to find if there are any other Hungarian cookbooks out there. To my surprise, I saw that this was being reprinted and was delighted! I look at this as a history of food for the Hungarians. The images in the book are great and the tips are fabulous. I can now make a better chicken paprikas than my mom! A must for you to pass along to your children or to anyone that is interested in the Hungarian culture. A real treasure!!

I received the hardcover version of this a number of years ago and so pleased with the whole book. Since then I have slowly been collecting the other Culinaria books because they are really just great! I am a half hungarian that has a love of cooking and baking, as well as do enjoy reading about the history and origins of food, dishes and the different countries and regions they are from: guests have perused this book as one would other great coffee table books.Makes a great gift, I’ve given three out as gifts and my only disappointment is that there is no longer a hardcover version of the Hungary book....

These are excellent cookbooks, but so much more. I also have the one on Greece. The Culinaria series combines recipes with traditional food, farming and cultural info. I love these, good photography too!

I cannot recommend this book enough!! The pictures are beautiful and the recipes are authentic. Having been to Hungary with my family a couple of times, I can honestly say that thumbing through the pages of this book brings back many fond memories of Hungary. It is about the food, the people and the history of Hungary. It is way more than just a cookbook. This book makes a wonderful gift for anyone who wishes to reminisce about this beautiful and unique country, and for those who may wish to re-create the delicacies inherent to Hungary.
