3.0 out of 5 stars A pretty good workout video
I liked the video. Jane Fonda had some cute things in it like the aerobic workout. I thought it was really fun. I just wish she would have done more on the ab's. She took about 15 on the arms and about 5 mins on the abs. I thought it should have been the same amount of time. Other then that it was a good video.

This review refers to the "Jane Fonda Complete Workout" VHS...

No matter what your age or fitness level, this is an excercise tape that can be beneficial to everyone. It is called the "Complete Workout"..and it is!

Jane takes you from a great warm up and upper body workout, through a fat burning aerobic session to a lower body strengthening and toning segment and finally a wonderful cooldown and stretch that will not only make you feel good about yourself, but just plain good!

The class is divided into three seperate segments. You can take your time and build up to doing all three or choose the ones that fit your needs the most. The first session is about 15 minutes of toning and sculpting the arms and also includes a little chest work as well(some push ups). You can start off with light weights and work your way up as you get stronger. Right afterwards there is a 35 minute aerobic class, which you can also adapt to your fitness level. She starts with a good warm up(the first time I did it, I thought the warm up WAS the aerobics session...was I in for a surprise!) and the class is generally divided into two groups you can follow. One is low impact and the other a combination of high and low impact). The music is fun and Jane, as in all the segments, talks you through and motivates you every step of the way. If your still standing, after this one you can move on to the lower body class. A very intense 20 minutes of lunges(done with or without weights), floor exercise and a little ab work(not alot, but like I said intense enough to feel it).Intermediate and advanced may add ankle weights to make the work out even harder.

You can adapt these sessions in any way you like. One day the upper body and aerobics, the next time, the aerobics and lower body. I like to use this tape about three times a week, and in combination with Jane's "Yoga Exercise Workout" once a week, I am seeing results, and seem to have alot more energy than before.

Although this tape was made more than a dozen years ago, it is still a good and effective workout. It is an excellent value for the price.

"I feel good....like I knew that I would, yeah"....Laurie

1.0 out of 5 stars lazy burn, Jun 19 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Jane Fonda's Complete Workout (VHS Tape)
Due to the other ratings (five stars), i bought this video, thinking it would be a good workout. It is lazy. I am not obsessed about calorie burning nor building up muscle, but i do like to work it out and challenge the different parts of the body with motion. This video does not have you lifting your legs up, to the sides and back, it gives few reps of each and it is seriously no pain and no gain. The ladies on it clearly worried more about their eighties big hairs and less about exercising for reals!! Don't buy it if you have the habit of exercising regularly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Video!, Mar 16 2004

I borrowed this video from a friend of mine, and it is great! It's the perfect workout for the average person who wants a good exercise routine. Yes, the cheesy 80's music, hair, outfits etc. are a little hard to get past at first, but once you do the video a few times you start to get used to it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oldie but Goodie, Jan 23 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Jane Fonda's Complete Workout (VHS Tape)
Despite the big hair and leg warmers, this workout video from the 80s still delivers! It is a great total body workout with weight training, stretching, an extremely FUN 30 minute aerobics routine, and abdominal work. It's one of a kind! I recently rented it from the library, reluctantly returned it, so now I am buying one of my own. A great workout!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not as bad as I thought it would be..., Jan 11 2004

This review is from: Jane Fonda's Complete Workout (VHS Tape)
A friend gave me her VHS for me to try. Sadly, I can NOT get past the clothes and the hoots-n-hollers. Ick. The hair, my GOODNESS the HAIR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Anyway, this actually isn't a bad workout. I'm surprised. I'm donating my copy to the library because I just can't get past the 80's cheesiness, but if you CAN get past those things, this really is a good workout. Surprisingly Jane teaches good form on the strength portion of the video, and the aerobic section isn't so bad either.

This is a decent workout for your money, but you absolutely have to be able to look past the bad clothes, bad hair, and bad music.

4.0 out of 5 stars OK, April 12 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Jane Fonda's Complete Workout (VHS Tape)
This video was ok! the reason I only gave it 4 stars was because the aerobic workout was good(35 minutes long) but the upper and lower body were very basic(upper body workout was 15 minutes long and the lower body 20 miuntes long). The music was good and she did a good job at keeping to the beat of the music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jane Fonda still rules!, Jan 11 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Jane Fonda's Complete Workout (VHS Tape)
I've had the pleasure of owning this tape for over 3 years and it's still great! It really gives the complete workout fast and easily and yet you feel that you have achived some REAL results. I have never been a big believer in gymnastic videos, but after trying this one I was addicted. The video is easy to learn, fun and with a good tempo. Jane Fonda has help from two other teachers and especially Lauren Sparks makes you want to keep on going on a higher level even though you almost can't do it anymore! The video is basically in 3 parts, upperbody workout, aerobics and lowerbody workout. All the movements are shown and explained carefully and Jane keeps on reminding you of what to do and what not to do. It's safe and intelligent. The video keeps your sprits up and makes you feel good. Combine this video with the Lean Routine and you will get an excellent workout! I'm 23 and living in the 21st century and Jane Fonda still rocks!

5.0 out of 5 stars It's ALL HERE!, Jan 9 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Jane Fonda's Complete Workout (VHS Tape)
This is another oldie-but-goodie I recently re-bought. Wow, what a workout! And what terrific instructions for weight-lifting posture, aerobic techniques--the gamut. It's probably the most versatile tape I've seen or used, and I've gone with a batch of them. It's good for beginners (or for getting back to where you once were, if you've, uh, lapsed), yet it adapts to higher levels of fitness, too. Good sense of humor here, lots of fun, and you'll FEEL it! Excellent instructions for protecting your joints, too.
