5.0 out of 5 stars YEAH!!!!!
I adored Shaun Cassidy from the time I was five years old! The first concert I ever went to was Shaun's and I slept in my Shaun Cassidy night shirt until it fell apart! I had every album he ever made! I am so excited to see this on CD since I no longer have a record player!
Unfortunately the sound quality is low but it still makes me deliriously happy to listen to...

C'Mon Now! There's more to Shaun Cassidy's Recording Career than the Hits! Just as there's more to Shaun Cassidy than starring in 'The Hardy Boys'!

There are a lot of overlooked gems, particularily from the first album, such as "Amblin'", "Take Good Care Of My Baby", "I Wanna Be With You" and "Be My Baby". And even the poignant and melodic "Morning Girl" has its charm...

4.0 out of 5 stars TEEN DREAM, TEEN DREAM, oooh, oh yeah!, Jan 9 2004

I grew up with 2 older sisters, and Shaun Cassidy is one of the first people I remember listening to, mainly, "Da Doo Ron Ron", "Teen Dream" and "Do You Believe In Magic". So his music has always had a very, very special place in my heart. It reminds me of being a kid and being carefree. I was born the year "Da Doo Ron Ron" came out, but I grew up on his albums anyway. Though this album is very short, it has all the main hits on it, it still is a great listen although some of the lesser known songs such as "Walk Away", "Carolina's Comin' Home" and "Taxi Dancer", to name a very few, would have been nice to have on cd, since NOTHING else of his has been released on cd, I wish they would remaster and reissue all of Shaun's albums because I have had to keep replacing my Shaun records, which in my opinion the best two are SHAUN CASSIDY and BORN LATE (though UNDER WRAPS is a very close 3rd), because they keep getting worn out! But until that happens, this collection (even though it's bare-bones essentials) is the next best thing.

No matter how much my boyfriend and my mom make fun of me for buying this, I am thrilled to have it!!!

With all the current teen idols around most have a 1 to 2 year career I can't help remembering one of the biggest teen idols from the late 70's. This CD has all his hits that were popular during the late 70's, the sound quality is great and it sounds like 1978 all over again.

There are a lot of overlooked gems, particularily from the first album, such as "Amblin'", "Take Good Care Of My Baby", "I Wanna Be With You" and "Be My Baby". And even the poignant and melodic "Morning Girl" has its charm. And where's "It's Up To You", "Strange Sensation", "Walk Away", "Audrey", "Baby, Baby, Baby" and "A Girl Like You" from the even better, in fact, BEST second album, BORN LATE? And didn't he do a version of The Who's "I Can't Explain" from the Todd Rundgren Produced WASP album? "Taxi Dancer" and even Bill La Bounty's "Lie To Me" from UNDER WRAPS are good, too. Enough to fill TWO discs? Enough to give the young girls, teenybopper admirers, teen idol fans and those he's such a heart throb (and hottie) to their Money's Worth! And really give an IN-DEPTH look at his career MUSICALLY! Not just a showcase of a "New Kid On The Block Of Its Time". And an Autographed Pin-Up Poster Suitable For Framing probably wouldn't hurt, either.

This collection of songs is AWESOME!! I really enjoyed being able to have it on CD. It really takes me back to the days of Shaun's face being plastered on my walls and his music blairing on the 8 track!! He is as handsome today as he was back then. After hearing him perform in "bloodbrothers" with David I still think he has the most awesome voice as well.

If you remember the days of bell-bottoms, humungous belt buckles, bouncing & behaving hair and peace-sign-necklaces, then you may still hear Shaun Cassidy's carefree songs ringing from the 8-track player in the far corner of your nostalgic mind. "Da Doo Ron Ron" and "That's Rock And Roll" sounded pretty good to me then, and these songs still get me humming along today. Check out the fantastic low price for this CD and take a trip back to the Summer of '76, with us on CD today and forever!

4.0 out of 5 stars Music Lover II, May 28 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
Shaun Cassidy has proven with this greatist hits, best of, that he wasn't one of those cut out, poster boys with a "studio" voice. He was and is one of the few teen idols from the 70's Teen Beat Magazine era to actually have a voice and talent. Too bad he had an older half brother or he would have become the 70's star!

I love this tape. I literally counted the days until it got to me. The memories it brought back to me, of my first crush on a rock star, were unbelievable. Took it to work with me, and we all had a ball dancing around to the songs from our teenage years. Thank you so much for carrying it, especially on cassette. I just couldn't bear to have it on CD. I had to get that 70's feeling, by not even listening to it in stereo, just the little cassette player on my desk. I love this tape!
