5.0 out of 5 stars 84,000 Different reasons to love this album...
When I first got this album, it was orginally for "Sunny came home" but the whole album is a wonderful testament to singer/songwriter Shawn Colvin; I have never had a musical performer speak to me in such a way before. The album has earned a place in my heart as the some of the best music I have ever heard.

2.0 out of 5 stars OK-- But I Don't Get It!
Pretty good... but I just don't get "Sunny Came Home..." What is the song supposed to be about?

I prefer my songs more straight-forward, like "Burning Down the House" by Talking Heads, and "I Just Called To Say I Love You" by Stevie Wonder.

5.0 out of 5 stars A few Small Repairs, April 15 2004

This album may be called a Few Small Repairs, but it's in need of no repairs, it rocks!! The tracks were all awsome. I strongly recommend this CD to any young artists who'd like to listen to quiet but inspirational music as they work.
Listeners will fall in love with her jaunty, soothing voice. Her songs each express a diffferent (beautiful) concept, each delicately written.
The CD was also an graphic deigner's dream: the negative print on the sleeve, and the vivid yellow CD.
Soulful teens: this is for you! i guarentee it to be music to heal the soul. 100% better than rock!

5.0 out of 5 stars A match was lit!, Mar 19 2004

Colvin's first track, "Sunny Came Home," is pure brilliance in its complexity and symbolism, but I just noticed something upon listening to this song just moments ago: at the very end of the song, you can hear a real match being lit, and being blown out, completely relevant to the lyrics. It's very subtle, but it adds to the song's significance.

Artists like Colvin are great in that new things and new meanings can be found within their songs upon repeated listenings.

I don't own this CD, but one song introduced me to Shawn Colvin and her ability to sing. My English teacher played this song during a lesson on symbolism, and I got ADDICTED! Sunny Came Home is a great song and I reccomend this CD to anyone that wants to hear the song that makes me think of how cool my teacher is.

I prefer my songs more straight-forward, like "Burning Down the House" by Talking Heads, and "I Just Called To Say I Love You" by Stevie Wonder.
