5.0 out of 5 stars REALLY REALLY GOOD, Jun 10 2005
This review is from: (What's the Story) Morning Glory? (Audio CD)
This CD makes me feel wonderful. If you're a new Oasis fan, this one is a necessity to own-buy it first. Personal favourite songs: She's Electric, Wonderwall, and Some Might Say. Great music for speeding on the highway with the windows rolled down and the wind in your hair. BUY IT.

I will go as far as saying the best album of all time. But what ever happens it is the Top 5 albums of all time. All the songs are worthy of being singles and they all could have been top 10.
Another well written album with brilliant songs. They are all amazing.
Before I go over the top with credit I just say you won't be dissapointed with this album. Buy it

4.0 out of 5 stars decent followup, Feb 16 2009

After the 1st album (Definitely Maybe) it was going to be hard to match that epic. The lads do a good job of trying as so many tracks on this album do hit the mark. "Don't Look Back in Anger" is a standout but it's not the only one. "Hello," "Wonderwall," "Some Might Say," "she's Electric" and "Morning Glory" all stack up well.

The weakest track is the single "Roll With It" which sounds at best like a B-side. Also, "Champagne Supernova" is far too long. Clocking in at 7 mins 27 secs, I had time to go make tea and have some crumpet (hey, I work fast...what can I tell ya).

All bad puns aside, the overall feel of this album is less a sonic explosion and more a fun night out at the pub or on holiday. It doesn't make it less enticing, just different.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great follow up,, Feb 5 2005

This is a great follow up to what some say the best debut album of all time. Evrey song is good but some just blow me away!
Favorites are:

"Wonderwall"
"Cast no shadow"
"Some might say"
"Champain supernova"

Wonderwall was the bigest hit and well known single as Noel rights about his former girlfriend , Liams voice is outstanding and a nice accustic guitar. Cast no shadow is about what we want to say and is what I think very simular to wonderwall. Some might say is incredibly catchey and reached number 1 on the UK charts. Champain supernova is long and boring at the begging but comes on nice.

Oasis may have lost a step on there late'st albums "Standing on the sholders of Giants" and "Heathern Chemistry" but Noel apparently has written 66 new songs for there new album due in May but only plans put on the best tracks on one C.D. so you know its gonna be good.

Well anyways dont wanna keep ya bored so buy this if love Rock and Roll and guitaring and rock on!

If you liked Oasis cheack out The Beatles , Nirvana or other rock.

Bye

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best albums ever., May 22 2004
This review is from: (What's the Story) Morning Glory? (Audio CD)
All you need to do is listen to this album and realise how great it is.
Its sheer brilliance, it also shows that rock can have proper tune while making a loud noise also.
While Oasis for a while lost it a bit with their two following albums, many songs off Heathen Chemistry (their 5th album) prove that they have still got what it takes, and without question Oasis WILL return to form and blow away all this rubbish music thats cluttering up the place.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tasty Britpop, May 9 2004
By
This review is from: (What's the Story) Morning Glory? (Audio CD)
Despite Oasis' big claim to be a much better band than The Beatles (lead singer Liam Gallagher even went as far to verbally attack George Harrison in an interview), as well as proclaiming to be the best band in the world, they have made some excellent, tasty music that's hard not to love. If you can ignore most of the embarrassing (and often laugh-out-loud hilarious) behavior attached to the band's mystique, you may just enjoy their music, too.

_(What's The Story) Morning Glory?_ is a non-stop train of tasty, ear-pleasing rock candy, with that, add in a little bit of swaggering attitude, and you have Oasis' niche. Songwriter (and sometimes, singer) Noel Gallagher has an excellent ear for melody.. even if most of his musings seem to be, more or less, stolen from The Beatles and their British Invasion contemporaries. If you're a music lover who is lamenting the lack of Britpop/British Invasion spin-offs in the popular music pantheon these days, or if you just want some loud, good-old fashioned rock n' roll, look into this album, and some of Oasis' other offerings. That's basically it for this review.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best albums evermade, April 26 2004

Oasis had a lot to live up to with this album. Their first album is considered by many to be the greatest debut album of all-time. That meant the pressure was on with (What's The Story)Morning Glory? and the guys stepped up. They stepped up and made one of the best albums of all-time.

The songs on this album are awesome. All are penned by Noel Gallagher. This is one of those albums where you will listen to every song on the album. All pretty good, but there are some gems on this album.

"Wonderwall" is the song that everybody knows from Morning Glory. It's the biggest Oasis single to date. It's easy to see why. The guitars are very catchy. The lyrics are fantastic as Noel sings about his relationship with his former girlfriend Meg Matthews. Everybody can relate to the song in some way or another.

"Don't Look Back in Anger" is my favorite track off the album. The song is about looking forward and not dwelling on what could have been or what should have been done. The chorus is simply fantastic. The song is very catchy. This song is always relevant and really is a song everybody should here. Noel displays his vocal talents on this track as well.

"Cast No Shadow is another special song from the album. Everybody has things they wish they could say, but can't find the right words to say. This song is all about that. It's better when the song is sung by Noel, but Liam sings it on the album.

"Some Might Say" is another special song from this album. It was a number one hit in the U.K. It's considered by many to be the best Oasis song. The song really does ask a lot of great philosophical questions. The song has a great chorus and is really catchy.

"Champagne Supernova" was another big hit for the guys. The song is the most phsycodelic Oasis song you will ever hear. Once again it's a song that a lot of people can relate to. It's a very pretty song that has some great lyrics in it. It's one of the best songs that Noel has penned to date.

This is a spectacular album. All the songs that I didn't talk about are good songs. The only song I dislike off this album are the instrumental tracks. I don't know what the guys were thinking when they put them on there. This really is a special album though. Everybody can relate to it in one way or another. Noel writes about human emotions like few other people can. Everybody should own this album. Go buy it now. It's very easy to find cheap. You won't regret buying this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great introduction, April 14 2004
This review is from: (What's the Story) Morning Glory? (Audio CD)
This album introduced me to the music of Oasis that wasn't being played on MTV. I love this cd and can still listen to every song. Who cares that they think they are better than the Beatles...for my tastes, they are!! If you like 'Wonderwall' and 'Champagne Supernova' then you will grow to love the other songs on this album as I have. Good old school Oasis!
