5.0 out of 5 stars Sam Kinison Rocks, no one else like him!!, Sep 25 2002

The Loss of Sam Kinison is a horrible loss for the world, he crosses the line of acceptablility in his humor, NOT for the PC crowd. Despite his raunchy humor, he was a preacher (seriously!) and keeps his belief strong, although veiled, and never force fed, like his humor! Get up! Rethink! And yell back! That's what it is all about about! Open your mind, not so far your brains will fall out, but enough to get a refreshing view on things.
As for recommendations with, I would (and did) get everything I could with Kinison, and am now hoping for the DVD set. The videos the were advertised on tv were very poor quality, no star because of the quality not the content.

5.0 out of 5 stars His BEST, Nov 14 2001
By A Customer

This has to be his best CD. Not to long, not too short, unbelieveably funny! The comedian is live, uncensored, at his raunchy best. We miss you, Sam. RIP.

5.0 out of 5 stars A brilliant follow up..., Oct 5 2000

Sam named this CD in response to Warner Brothers pulling his first CD 'Louder Than Hell' out of print. 'Have You Seen Me Lately' provides ample humor in an arena setting charged with a lively and animated crowd. Sam performs to the best of his god given ability, and the audience eats from his hand with an eagerness rarely captured on any recording. His subject matter ranges from the twisted to the almost sacreligious, but nobody but Sam could have discussed these in his act with the style and showmanship of an evangelical ex-preacher. Bad taste? Hardly! I think this recording is a look back into the prime of a great artist. Sam Kinison's death was a tragedy, and we lost him before he could reach his true potential. But recordings such as 'Have You Seen Me Lately' can remind us of how funny one man can be. It is well worth the investment for the laughs you'll experience over and over again.

Outrageous comedy, hilarious. It is bad taste, but funny bad taste. It's not bad taste just to shock, Kinison actually makes the stuff funny.

4.0 out of 5 stars OH-OHHHH!, April 21 2000
This review is from: Have You Seen Me Lately? (Audio CD)
The only reason I didn't give this five stars was because nothing can touch Sam's first album, the hysterical "Louder Than Hell" (yes, it is out of print, but if your local record shop still sells cassettes you might get lucky). Sam Kinison was a true comic genius who would do material on stuff no comic would even dream of and make people laugh even when they were absolutely horrified at what he said. The phrase "Nothing's sacred" seems to have been invented for Sam Kinison. He was still in his prime when this album was recorded, and you will be convulsed beginning to end. Warning: Do NOT listen to this or any Sam Kinison recording while driving. I know of five people who have narrowly avoided or gotten into accidents because they were laughing so hard. Yes, I was one of them . . . . Rest in peace, Sam--you're still the best!

5.0 out of 5 stars Long live Kinison! Buy this CD and remember the genius., Jan 3 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Have You Seen Me Lately? (Audio CD)
This is Kinison's second-best album (the best is the first, "Louder Than Hell," which is currently out of print). It is his second release and remains a comedy classic. After listening, and doubling up in hysterics, you'll realize what a profound loss his death caused the comedy world. If you've never heard "Bad Sam," brace yourself... his humor is not for those with delicate sensibilites. Kinison delivered outrageous rants on the most sensitive topics with the power of a holy roller in full force. No topic was sacred: religion, relationships, drugs, death, famine - Sam skewered them all with relish. If you fancy yourself an aficionado of cutting-edge comedy, buy everything this man recorded. He's gone now and he only left behind four albums and a handful of videos... and they're worth their weight in gold.

5.0 out of 5 stars You'll be offended...I promise., Nov 29 1999

This comedy album is one of the best. Unlike any other album of this genre, I have been able to listen to it repeatedly. It makes fun of everything from drunk driving, to marriage, to Jesus. If you can't handle this kind of comedy, go away. It is also an oddly prophetic album if you know anything about the circumstances of his death. I miss Sam's irreverant humor, but I love remembering him with this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sam stands alone, Aug 5 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Have You Seen Me Lately? (Audio CD)
Nobody speaks to a man's soul like brother Sam. The man understood every possible way a man can be alienated, examined each way, and promptly made fun of it. He is what he is; love him or hate him, there's no in between; he stands alone, sui generis.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pre-PC Goodness, April 27 1999

Listening to a Sam Kinison album these days shows us just how far the Political Correctness movement has come since his heyday. Listen to this album and imagine the response to a comic who tried it today...
