5.0 out of 5 stars It's the "REAL " BOSTON !!!!!!
It took me 24 years and the power of the internet to discover that the "real" BOSTON continued on under the album names : Barry Goudreau and RTZ. This album is just as good (if not better) than Boston's "Don't Look Back". It should have been BOSTON's real third album. Check out [...] for the latest works of Barry Goudreau and Brad Delp. I can't believe...

3.0 out of 5 stars An interesting artifact for lovers of the band Boston.
Tired of waiting around for Tom Scholz to finish the latest Boston album, most of the band got together and recorded this above average album. There are a couple of really great tunes here- "Dreams" (the best Boston song that Boston never recorded) is worth the price of the album alone, while "Life is What We Make It" & "Sailin' Away"...

Tired of waiting around for Tom Scholz to finish the latest Boston album, most of the band got together and recorded this above average album. There are a couple of really great tunes here- "Dreams" (the best Boston song that Boston never recorded) is worth the price of the album alone, while "Life is What We Make It" & "Sailin' Away" would cover shipping & handling. All-in-all, this is better than Boston's Walk On.
What's most interesting is the addition of Fran Cosmo to the line up. The story goes that he was added because the real Fran from Boston didn't want to participate. Fran Cosmo of course stayed with Barry after this project for Orion the Hunter ("So You Ran"), while Brad Delp returned to Boston for Third Stage. Brad then rejoined Barry (his brother-in-law) to form RTZ, while Fran then joined Boston as one of the many blended voices attempting to recreate Brad's voice for Boston's Walk On. Brad then recorded new songs for Boston's Greatest Hits package, while still singing for RTZ. The revolving singers is a very interesting story.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good album to have for Boston fans, Dec 3 2006

Although it is a good album and only a good one if you are a die-hard Boston fan, it is unfortunately not as good as Don`t look back. It sounds like the sound Tom Scholz created for Boston and that`s about it. Don`t forget that Boston was originally (the first two albums) a duet. Only Scholz and Delp. The other guys came with the ``band`` when they got a recording contract and had to tour after the huge success of BOSTON. The record company wanted a band, not a duet, to tour in order to promote the albums. Nevertheless, it is a good album from a wannabe Boston follow up and deserve to be in your classic rock collection. You can get all the story about Boston at [...]

4.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding, April 10 2000

No offense to Tom Scholz, but if you didn't know that this was a solo album you'd swear that Boston put out a third album in the 70's (well, ok, it came out in 1980). Mean Woman Blues is by far one of the best this lineup (minus Tom S.) recorded. Get it, it's great!

Boston without Tom Scholz... Barry learned very well from Tom
while with Boston. With Brad Delp on the vocals, it sounds like
a Boston album. Very good collections of songs... If you are
a Boston fan, a must purchase.....

FANTASTIC album!! Only the most die-hard Boston fans would notice the absence of Tom Scholtz on this LP. The rest of the band sounds great! It's the same great Boston sound as the first album. A must-have for any Boston fan. Enjoy!

This album features band members from the group Boston, and is very similar in sound. If you like power chords and rock and roll, this album is a must have.

Barry has done a better job with this album than with Orion The Hunter. Would love to hear new material from him.
