5.0 out of 5 stars ~nice songs- Tiffany Arbunckle is a good singer~
I only got this CD recently, but I've been listening to it a lot and it's neat!
1. Late Great Planet Earth - Quite noisy, and it was an okay song - it's not my favorite song because it's noisy and the tune is rather...creepy.
2. Stranded - A nice, pretty song, but still not my favorite song because the last part of the song is slightly strange.
3. Here With...

I think the same 14yr old girl who likes this cd, keeps writing reviews under different names. This CD is Dull & Boring. The message in most of these songs is "Life Stinks, We all have problems, but if you know God, he sometimes bails you out." This is one of those bands that most of their songs all sound the same. Plumb showed some promise with their first CD but failed on this one. Lyrics are clouded like you never really know who or what they are singing about. Could be God, could be their pet gold fish. I think I listed to it about 4 times to see if I was missing something, anything that I could say was good about this CD. I know plenty of Christian artist out there that would love to get the break they did but would HOLD to their convictions and sing about their faith. Creed is a band that says they are not a "christian" band but their songs have more faith an conviction than this band. Try "Miss Angie", "Jennifer Knapp", "Shaded Red" or Scarecrow & Tinmen. Much Better music and lyrics. I really dislike this "Plumb" CD. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

2. Stranded - A nice, pretty song, but still not my favorite song because the last part of the song is slightly strange.
3. Here With Me - The tune of this song is pretty.
4. Lie Low - One of my favorite songs in this CD- the chorus is really pretty and nice! Tiffany Arbunkle has a nice voice in this song.
5. Phobic - A bit too slow, but it's nice.
6. God-Shaped Hole - It was okay, the tune is fine, but the beat is pretty slow.
7. Solace - Another of my favorite songs, mainly because it's my favorite kind of song...digitalized and pop! Also, it wasn't as noisy as the first song.
8. Worlds Collide: A Fairy Tale - Nice...a happy tune...the tamborine.
9. Damaged - The tune was pretty in this song- but kind of sad.

10. Drugstore Jesus - I like the chorus part of this song as well; it was nice.
11. Candycoatedwaterdrops - Kind of jazzy and slow, but nice, except that the title is a bit too long!
This CD is nice, and I'm sure you'll like the songs too! :D

Very good. Kind of Techno-rock, well-crafted.

Sorry to burst your Jennifer Paige-bubble, "A music fan" from Nampa, ID. Plumb was the original writer/recorder of "Stranded" and "Here With Me." Jennifer Paige covered the songs. She merely reversed the order in which they appear on Candycoatedwaterdrops. Perhaps she was hoping to fool the more gullible into thinking she originally recorded the songs. Actually, the Plumb album came out 2 1/2 years before Paige's. And what a great album it is. Plumb is one of the few Christian groups who has successfully mastered the "alternative" sound. Favorite songs are Stranded, Here With Me, Phobic, Damaged (Another song that was covered--and made into a dance song. Who'd have thought a song about child abuse would be a dance hit?), and Drugstore jesus.

3.0 out of 5 stars Strange?, Jan 30 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: candycoatedwaterdrops (Audio CD)
I do not know that much about this band at all. But one of my favorite singers is Jennifer Paige. I thought I would see what these guys sounded like, but I thought it very strange that they have two exact songs that are on Jennifer Paige's "Positively Somewhere" album: "Stranded," and "Here With Me." I thought that strange and I would of rather heard an album full of songs I hadn't already heard from other singers.

You want pop? It's here. You want hard rock? It's here. You want sweet and soft? It's here.

Plumb's disappearance after this album is one of my biggest disappointments, because I think they could have been big. Listen to this album, it's one of the very few that you'll love your first time through.

4.0 out of 5 stars not bad., Nov 12 2002

Tiffany Arbuckle and co. have produced a very good pop album here. The lyrics are good, the music is good (if a little too embellished with odd electronic sounds), and the effort is overall solid even to more critical listeners such as myself. I will warn that a couple of the songs (namely "God-shaped Hole" and "Worlds Collide") are rather weak, and the production is rather excessively slick.

Vocalist Tiffany Arbuckle presents a wonderful album of material. On some songs, she reminds me of Harriet Wheeler (from The Sundays). The production is well layered and warmly varied. Tiffany's voice and lyrics deeply touch you inside. Every song has MASSIVE staying power. You will not be skipping any tracks here. This is a must have album. Essential for souls everywhere.

4.0 out of 5 stars Polished and catchy., Oct 19 2002
This review is from: candycoatedwaterdrops (Audio CD)
You don't have to be a 14 year old girl to enjoy this album, contrary to the views of a number of other reviewers. You just have to like catchy music. I don't necessarily mean 'trite' when I say catchy. I believe some tunes from this disc were used on the WB's DAWSON'S CREEK, but I won't hold that against Plumb. Admittedly, some of the material borders on 'fluff', but give this album a chance. "Late Great Planet Earth" is actually a depressing song: "The sky is falling, voices crying out in desperation, here them calling, everybody save yourself." Not exactly bubble-gum lyrics there. But much of the rest is more light hearted and does occasionally read like a teenager's diary. It doesn't bother me, I am able to find some good messages in the lyrics anyway...

"Stranded", "Here With Me", "Lie Low" and "World's Collide: A Fairy Tale" are good tunes that are very hummable. Good music, good production, good execution, and Tiffany Arbuckle's wonderful voice to boot. Definitely worth checking out.

Great to sing with mixture of music. Lyrically beautiful and very moving. "God-Shaped Hole" is edgy with a great message. Only 1 or 2 on this one didn't go over well with me, but grew on me a little. "Drug Store Jesus" is a strange title with surrealistic lyrics, it's got a decent hook but doesn't do too much for me. Overall a really great album, however.
