Euphoria Morning,

Hands down, one of the best CDs of the 90's. Euphoria Morning is Chris Cornell's shining moment. Filled with great songs throughout, this one still sounds like a classic. Definitely on my top ten list of all time. Looking forward to his acoustic CD "Songbook" coming out in November.

This album is truly a remarkable work of art. Very personal lyrics, beautiful vocals and guitar work. My only complaint is the cheezy drumming courtesty of Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle) who appears on most of the tracks. He's a studio drummer who adds nothing to the songs at best, and iritates me at the worst. This is a side effect of studio projects rather than live bands. What can you do? I highly recommend this album.

this album is a masterpiece. it's not soundgarden and it's not audioslave. i actually think it's better than both. lyrically, musically, sonically it is perfect. anyone who disagrees probably has a broken brain.

This is a very soulful, compelling side of Cornell. I am an SG fan from way back, and I always knew that Cornell wrote great songs, but this tops it off. Temple of the Dog album was indicative of this man's amazing ability to belt it out, and this album concurs.

This album shows a softer side of Cornell, after being in a hard rock grunge band it feels good to hear his lower voice. Steel Rain, Can't Change Me and When I'm Down are the best songs on the album IMO

If you like Temple Of The Dog, which i adored, then you shouldn't even think twice about getting this cd. I think his talent really flies when he sticks to this beautiful melodic style and it's completed with amazing lyrics. My favorite song is Follow My Way. Sweet Euphoria is also incredible, you can just hear his aching soul in every note. I put off buying this cd for sooo long b/c of that bad song Cant Change Me, so dont let that mess you up!

I am a fan of Soundgarden, not huge, the dull, muddy guitar sound gets tiresome, I also like audioslave, although the album is a bit overplayed. So maybe I'd like this right? Nope, I found myself nodding off to sleep listening to this, although there is a bit of that angsty, painful sound to his voice painting the corners of this album, overall it seems lifeless and his voice sounds a bit like whining. The music itself isn't great, but it isn't terrible, and if there was some better song writing, this album would've been better. On more than a few songs there are potential, lyrically for a hook, or that throaty crescendo that we all are used to from cornell, but nope, there is no apex to these songs, they scale the mountaintop and right before they reach the top come stumbling back down. Perhaps its Cornell's intention to sound like a weathered and beaten man on this album, but the angle gets old early on in the album and by late in the album i kept wondering, "When will this end?" I know Cornell probably wanted to differientiate himself from Soundgarden with this album and changed the lyrical style, too bad it doesn't work.

This is such a great album. It is eclectic in all the best ways. My favorite song is "When I'm Down." Some songs are so unlike Soundgarden or even Audioslave, but that is hardly a reason to miss this great, great wonder.

I think this album is what most people expected it to be, smart, and very good, but pretty much "Soundgarden"-light. It's actually what I was hoping for. Something that was more singer oriented, without totally rocking your socks off, which his old band did. I know Chris was friends with Jeff Buckley, and I think he was shooting for something like his "Grace" album with this. The single here was "Can't Change Me", but it's actually one of my least favorite songs. The album as a whole though is very impressive, and the tracks "Follow My Way", "Moonchild", and "Preaching The End Of The World" really stand out. I also really enjoy "Audioslave", but let's hope he manages to release a follow-up to this great album sometime soon. That should be his next "Mission".
