5.0 out of 5 stars A favourite!
This is one of my favorite "chick flicks". Ok so the storyline isn't the greatest but Jennifer pulls it off and it's worth watching just to see Matthew! It's a cute movie! If you like this movie you will love "Failure to Launch" with Matthew also.

3.0 out of 5 stars This movie was pretty good
I really don't care for Jennifer Lopez. I mean the women is an okay actress. I don't think she makes great movies. I honestly never liked a Jennifer Lopez movie (Other then Selena). But this movie I liked. I think she did pretty good in the movie. It was a nice story line and the chemistry between her and Matthew was great. I really enjoyed the film. It was cute.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-see for all of us romantic people..., May 2 2010
This review is from: The Wedding Planner (Widescreen) (DVD)
This is the epitome of the romantic comedy. It's light, it's fresh and the leading man is to die for (not that the stand-in isn't cute either)! Granted, the acting is not Oscar-worthy and the story isn't going to move you to tears, but the scenery is beautiful, the moments are well-crafted and the end has just the right amount of uncertainty to make it an enjoyable experience! As a woman with a mile-wide romantic streak, I never tire of watching it!

The Wedding Planner DVD ~ Jennifer Lopez is a great little flick. Lopez is amazing and she holds the movie together. The story line is not great, but who cares when you watch miss Lopez in a movie...

2.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievably FAR FETCHED formula romantic "comedy", July 3 2004

Another Jennifer Lopez love story. Bitter sweet and more far fetched than a "Will & Grace" episode. This stuff JUST DOESN'T HAPPEN!

Here's a sampling of the "coincidences" adding to a million to one odds: An aspiring wedding planner (with a lousy love life) is saved from a runaway garbage container by a gorgeous young doctor, who turns out to be her current client's fiancee. Mutual sparks fly. All in a city of, oh, 8 million people. Yeah, RIGHT! Mix in a few fairy tale situations (a cinema in the park with opportunities to dance, a ballroom dance class with more opportunities to dance, beautiful wedding songs, and more mush mush mush), and you have another Jennifer Lopez moment.

This is NO "Sleeping in Seattle" or "Groundhog Day", but merely another piece of commercial formula fluff unworthy of the name "romantic comedy". The male lead (what was his name?) has already been labeled a "has been", as this film won't be remembered for anything special, if it will be remembered at all. Save yourself the time and trouble, this one isn't worth either.**

4.0 out of 5 stars Way better than MIM, Jun 5 2004

well I loved this movie, its funny, its just great! We all know already what is it about. But what I want to say is that is wrong to compare this movie to Maid In Manhattan! Its way better and even a non JLO fan will love it, if he likes comedies, this is the kind of movie that makes you feel 'easy' and enjoy your time! I defenetly recommend it! ;)

4.0 out of 5 stars grows on you, May 9 2004

When i first rented The Wedding Planner from the video store, I thought it was absolutely the worst thing I ever watched. The second time I saw it i started liking it and then once they showed it on tv, i actually liked it. the only negative thing about the movie is jennifer's acting is quite flat and she has no chemistry whatsoever with matthew.

I love romantic comedies so I sat down to watch this one waiting to fall in love. Was I in for a disappointment!

Jennifer Lopez is a terrible actress and there is absolutely no chemistry between her and Matthew McConaughey (who is adorable in How to Lose a Guy). Further more the movie celebrates a guy who is about to be married flirting and drooling and making goo-goo eyes at a perfect stranger. And the ending! I won't give it away, let's just say that there are NO surprises here, you can see this one coming from a mile away!

If you want to sit down with a blanket, some comfort food, and a great chick flick check out Bridget Jones, Return to Me, When Harry Met Sally or French Kiss.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Waste Your Time or Money!!!, Feb 10 2004
This review is from: The Wedding Planner (Widescreen) (DVD)
I bought this as a gift for my mother-in-law, who proceeded to tear it apart. Although I secretly agreed, I was embarrased to say so, since I bought it as a gift for her (and of course you cant agree with your mother-in-law)...

Here's the Plot: JLo falls for "hottie" doctor, plans his wedding, and steals him away from the soon-to-be wife. And everyone's OK with this. What is this?

Watch for yourself, but I'd recommend saving your money and doing something useful with your time like tweezing hairs from hard-to-reach places.

Ms.Lo does it again proving that she can't act. There was no chemistry between the two characters. Also, casting directors have to stop picking actresses like her in movies that could really be good. And another thing does SHE look Italian.I think NOT. Her playing one is just plain insulting.
