Missing,

This CD comprises of a few great songs, however, they are missing "Moon River" by Henry Mancini. HBO should not be allowed to make dvd's or cd's if they are unaware of the most touching moments in their show. It may have taken Big and Carrie until the end of the show to get it together, but this song was so perfectly situated to end a season and to show the depth of feelings she had for him.

Someone named Tara was looking for the song played in the final episode when Carrie was running down the street and Miranda was doing the same back in NY. The song is called La Belle et le bad boy by MC Solaar.

While the HBO television series continued to win and be nominated in Golden Globe (whether it does excel or not) year after year making Carrie-Samantha-Miranda-Charlotte four HUGE household names, the soundtrack turns out to be a disatisfactory compilation putting up with the show's grossy success and merely basking in the spotlight of Sarah Jessica Parker. The cover says it all.For crying out loud sake, where's I GOT TO BE REAL when Carrie tripped and fell over The New York Style runway wearing that fabulous Dolce & Gabbana jewel panties in the 4th season? It's completely absurd they missed this one out because the Cheryl Lynn 90's hit for that episode is such a highlight in the show. I'll be more happy if they replaced that pathetic TASTE THE TEAR by whoever-the-Amber with it. And COUNT TO 10 by jokerella Imani Coppola, did they really think our NYC single independent Monolo Blahnik Chanel ladies will click with some Chupacabra Coolio-haired cowgirl? The Dust Brother's MORE MORE MORE sounds really intimidated here, "how I like it" to go away. Missy Elliott's HOT BOYZ is NOT hot at all and probably should also go. But thank Tom Jones' Peppermin Jam Mix SEXBOMB we also have Bette Midler, Moloko, Trisha Yearwood and a few more qualified urban voices to make the cooler B-side of this soundtrack worth listening on. (Keep an eye on the upcoming imported copy of this HBO soundtrack with more better songs.)

Although i have never seen the show...,

From the reviews I have read about the soundtrack, I understand that some or all the songs are not in the TV show.I first took a listen of some the songs on a music website and again at a used CD store (from where I purchased the soundtrack). At first I did not think I would like it. But as I listened to the songs a little longer they kind of got stuck in my head! The first track on the CD has a remix of Tom Jones 1999 overseas hit "Sexbomb". It's remixed by German DJ Mousse T. The second track is another favorite of mine. Amber's "Taste the Tears". Another great dance song with its R&B- like music. "Calling It Quits" sung by Aimee Mann is another track that's starting to stick with me. The artist is probably best known for singing the theme song, "Save Me" to the acclaimed 1999 film 'Magnolia'. And my last favorite is the theme to the show by Groove Armada. What makes it even better it's the extended remix. I love this song. Ever since hearing the short version of the theme, the music has been stuck in my head ever since. The rest of the soundtrack contains artists whom I am not to crazy about or whom I have never heard of: Joan Osbourne, Elian Atias, Reiss and Trisha Yearwood. But still are good enough to take a listen to. As I have written earlier, that I have never seen this show (OK. I have seen " Sex And The City" only once, due to certain circumstances), and from reading and practically hearing about the show all over the place, it sounds like the lyrics match the going ons of the series. |
