Horrible. What else can I say? I heard about this from someone who likes Bill Hicks and David Cross so I figured it might be something at least partly funny, even if Fear Factor is the stupidest ... show ever. But this is just a jackass saying "haha I have a penis" and thinking it's somehow funny. Yeah, anyone can talk about sex, who cares? It's just dumb and...

Oh baby I like it RAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If most funk albums were this stanky they'd have been banned years ago by the PMRC. Unbelievable.

A MAN"S COMIC. Yeah, I Stumbled onto this by accident online a couple years back, looking up Bill Hicks stuff. I found some clips of Rogan's 'Live from the Belly of the Beast' video (which has much of the same material as this CD- with some great anti-Hefner bits, a brilliant retarded jesus bit and a hilarious joke about inter-racial porn with which I have offended god only knows how many people) and instead of spending the evening working on a term paper I sat in the wusc (FM Columbia) college radio library, all night long, laughing my asss off and searching down more stuff. I Bought this that night.

This is platinum. If you got this far because you dig him on the man show- hey, just buy this now. Comedy albums this consistently hilarious are a rare breed. He breaks all the rules, molests all conventions and simply rules. The only sleepers are the three middle tracks (the voodoo poonanny song just doesn't do anything for me at all, nor anyone else that I know), regardless- this still deserves the best rating that I can offer up on bended knee. Yes, it's sexist as HELL (and refreshingly so), no it's not homophobic (in fact, the handful of gay guys I've played the 'cockconscious bit' for, they all laughed- one laughed so hard he fell off a chair- for real). It's in your face from the first second. Great CD for road trips.

It's the kind of CD you keep to yourself and steal jokes from to rule at a bar- I should probably give it a one star rating just so I can steal more easily with less chance of getting caught. But that would be the un-manly thing.

In a world of PC jackasses preening their mundane everyman BS chatter- Rogan burns through the scene like Alien blood. Don't take it from me, take it from 'johnnykungfu' below with his 1 star rating- Rogan is so good he scares off the bloodless zombies back to the holes and churches, let them pray for him. we can laugh like the men we are.

5.0 out of 5 stars the funniest stand up I own., Jun 2 2003
This review is from: I'm Gonna Be Dead Someday... (Audio CD)
Buy this and hide it. memorize it. You will go far. this is the funniest [...] thing I've ever heard (even beats out kinison's early vinyl-only material). I recently finished reading the worst book ever. (A million little pieces, by james Frey- if you must know) and had to go listen to Rogan just to feel clean and sane again. His video is pretty good too (at sacredcow deet commie...) utterly vulgar, hilarious, unflinching, unpretentious, acerbic comedy.

YOU CAN"T GO WRONG WITH ROGAN!

And all the people who compare him to Bill Hicks should definitely, like the guy who said it before, not vote or reproduce. Making the same jokes that 12 year olds make isn't really that funny. Go buy David Cross or Bill Hicks and stop comparing this to them.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you don't see the spirit of Hicks, clean your third eye., Feb 28 2003
This review is from: I'm Gonna Be Dead Someday... (Audio CD)
First, I love Hicks, Kinison, Wright, Carlin and Rock. Forget Newsradio. Forget his Fear Factor day job. Joe's stand-up is a beast of a different breed. If you're looking for some guy who's making a living trying to do what Bill Hicks did, stick to Leary. If you want a comedian that's not making any pretenses about who he is or how he thinks and can still make you laugh hard about everything from mean strippers to the olympics, give Joe a shot. He's worth it.

I was browsing the comedy section of the local Best Buy when I found this album. I thought, "Huh. That guy from News Radio. Why not?"

I don't believe I've ever laughed that hard on the ride home.

He's foul, yes. He's offensive, certainly. Yet he's absolutely dead-on when talking about how we men think in certain situations and he isn't afraid to say what he thinks. Buy this one only if you aren't easily offended - he makes Carlin look like Mr. Conductor again.

More like a white Martin Laurence. This is a 7 year old in a man's body, all excited because he can make a living talking about the male sex organ, and his fear of it. Whee!

This guy is so hungup on gays and their sex acts that he must be such a flaming queen in his private life. Methinks the lady doth protest too much.

Anyone who compares this to bill hicks should be horsewhipped and deafened with knitting needles.

Pure trash. If you like it, please don't vote or reproduce.

Yes, there is a lot of swearing - my wife was horrified. However, Rogan does not use vulgar language to disguise weak writing. He does not need to do that.

Writing is very good.

It must be noted that the recording evening also felt particularly good for the performer - you can feel electricity and response of the audience.

It is amazing how Rogan sustains excellent rhytm and flawless delivery for prolonged periods. He reminded me of Lewis Black - and his mastery of intonation is outstanding. "Ladies' Night Out" is a masterpiece, and so is "Anna Nicole Smith/How To Die". Opening dialogue is a bit rough for finer tastes but still makes for a captivating listening.

He will be probably not the favourite of those who long for a comedian to deliver "social commentary", which is an euphemism for denouncing Ronald Reagan every thirty seconds. For all others, Rogan will be a revelation.

Joe Rogan pulls no punches in his CD recorded live from Houston. The News Radio, and Fear Factor alumni comes off with fantastic routines ranging from Girls Night out at the Strip Club, the antics of the younger more sexually adventurous crowds of L.A. and his description of Tonya Harding as the Real American Olympiad. One of the funnier tracks aside from Girl's Nite Out is the track detailing the freak show that was and is Anna Nicole Smith and her marriage to Texas bazillionaire J. Howard Marshall. His routines are well thought out, and the CD just rolls right along. This is one guy i must try to see live!!!!!! Buy this CD but be warned Joe's language, and monologue is peppered with adult language, and situations. Still thought it was funny as hell!!!
